JUB Republicans / Conservatives... can you please identify, or post any bills that either the new Republican controlled US House or Republican minority bills in the US Senate that you support, like, or feel is a good step forward for the USA? Now that Republicans have picked up big wins 5 months ago, what have they done that you support, can get behind, like, or feel advances the country?

I'd like your input, and thoughts.

I like this idea. Who knows, there might even be legislation that non-Republicans can support that might not get any focus due to all the international craziness of Mother Nature and freedom-loving Muslims.

I agree. I read a fair number of business / conservative focused magazines, but for the life of me, I don't see anything other than stomping on labor, and slashing corporate income taxes and then demanding poor people pay for those tax cuts. Even the conservative magazine Economist scratches their head over the raft of bills they've called "superfluous" and seriously doubt Republican goals and priorities.

The stampede to post is practically deafening.

Is this a sneaky way to do some research for a degree in political psychology?

I don't know where in the process it is, but they are looking to end the ban on incandescent lightbulbs. YAY!!!!!

This is very tongue and cheek. They had all this momentum from the election and now they are standing together and saying to one another, "No you go first." "No you." "No you do it." Pathetic.

And I do hope that incandescent lightbulbs don't go away. I hate those damn mercury filled CFLs.

The pollution issue is an interesting one: it seems the manufacture of incandescents put mercury into the general environment, while breaking a CFL puts it into your house....

I still hate them.

In 5-10 years we'll all be using LED globes. 90% more efficient, great light quality.

Amazing that's even a worry when you consider that dental amalgams are 50% mercury so, we are constantly dosing ourselves with poison anyway.

offtopic:

When I bought my flat last year it already came with LED lighting. Electricity is double per kWh there so made it a no brainer. Even in the USA if you are buying a new home you should just install all LED lighting and roll it into your mortgage.

But I digress. So this is the only likable bill the Republicans have? Not to point out the obvious but this bill won't create a single new job, cut the deficit, or help prepare the USA for the future.

Nice try. We couldn't get any Republican/Conservatives JUBers to identify Republican/Conservative policies or ideas for moving the country forward they liked or approved. It's easier to point to concrete acts of the new Republican majority with which one agrees. Who'd a thought there were none of those?

Maybe our conservative friends are just googling away like mad to find something, anything positive to say about the Republicans.

I can't believe that the destruction of healthcare reform isn't being touted by the conservatrives as the best thing that ever happened to the US.

Why would I want to participate in a thread started by someone who insults everyone?

Insults "everyone"?

He's never insulted me.

And you just participated. However, you said nothing about the topic so you cannot identify or post any bills that you support, like, or feel is a good step forward that the new Republican house majority has enacted.

I thought so. Because there are none.
