I'm enjoying this way too much. ;)

Here's a vid from the taping of "Judge Judy" today, when the earthquake struck...

Boy ! She's out of there in a blink of an eye...

Enjoy

I love how both of the people just stand there like "Uhh...wtf is going on? Is the world ending? Oh it doesn't matter I'm on t.v"

I like how she left without a word to the crowd.

Yeah, that struck me as well.

As if the people out there didn't really matter to someone on 'her level'.

Hmm.... #-o

edit: And, wtf have you been, btw, Ryan ? I miss you around these parts

I think it was more the natural human instinct of every man for himself, or survival of the fittest.

I would have done the same thing.

I dunno.

If I were in front of a roomful of people, and perceived as 'the leader' I would have at least shouted for everyone to get down or get out of the building on my way out of the room....

Well, she is a judge, after all. We expect a little more from people in leadership positions like that. You know, captains go down with the ship and all.
Her job is the law, not natural disasters, although watching what comes through her court room, it may seem like that.

I still think she did what everyone else did in that court room, got the fuck out to save herself. I don't really have time for other worthless humans when my worthless life is in jeopardy.

i think she set a good example for the other people there

in general i think most people would go hey an earthquake maybe i should get the fuck out of here without the need to be told

Kind of my thinking behind it. It is a basic human instinct. When faced with a life threatening situation, humans fend for themselves.

HAHAH

SHE DON'T CARE

She just left silently.

And all the people were not really concerned.

That was odd but funny.

No sound, but speaks volumes.

She's a arrogant old cumudgeon, but this says she's unable to relate to the people on a safety level. If she had ordered an evacuation, instead of scarpering, she'd've gained some respectability through it. I only feel contempt for her selfish disappearing act...

Or something like that...

How is she responsible? She more or less is the host of the TV show. Tell the editor(s) and producers to get our of their chairs and say "Everyone out now!"

If I was sitting there in an earthquake, I'd be gone too. When you feel an earthquake (I've been in a few) you don't think about the person in front of you or to the side, you think, "Oh shit, where's some cover now". People aren't perfect.

So it's a show, she's the person who holds the power in that courtroom, and whilst in session, she's the boss. Then she fucked off...

Had it been any more violent, that dumb old crowd she presided over would've been dead or injured, and through her own inaction, she's part liable for the lack of direction in her courtroom, tv set or no.

There's a thread just on the first page about court shows like Judge Judy being fake and being reality TV.

And so what if she said "Earthquake, everyone out!". People know what the hell an earthquake is, almost all of them live in So. Cal, I'm sure they realized what it was and if not, realized it seconds after when the ground starts shaking violently out of nowhere and the Judge runs off. Judge Judy wouldn't have been able to save that 'court' room if the earthquake was any more violent and she would have been right there with those people should anything serious have happened.

I don't get why you can place blame on her for this when she did nothing wrong and could do nothing to prevent the situation.

And once again, what good would that have done?

Send the people outside of the court room into the streets where there could be buildings coming down around them and debris flying around all over the place? I'm guessing they're in a set that's inside another building/studio. That 'court room' was probably the safest place those people could be.

i thought the people would have had some idea there was something not quite right when the ground started shaking

its like the fire alarm is going off and they can see flames would you expect her to stand amongst the flames telling people to evac that is what the alarm is for in this case it was an earthquake they all felt it

If a tornado was about to blow the building away, I wouldn't be waiting around for ANYONE....judge, police, whoever, to tell me what to do.

I have my own mind, as well as all those people in the court room. If we have to depend on a law official to tell us "earthquake! take cover! get out!" then are we gonna have to depend on them to tell us to wipe our asses too?

Stop, stop... stop! Take your seats! Don't go out and save yourself, you're here for the camera! >:[
