Hi guys,
Firstly thanks for all your feedback and your kind words especially; they certainly made me feel my work was appreciated. So it is with a doubly heavy heart that I have to inform you that the wait for a sequel to “Junctions” and the new mystery series “Tyler Calloway” will be a rather long one. I took up far too many commitments this year (hoping to make up for the last, in which I had barely any) and they are taking up a lot of my time. Also, I’m now in my second year, which counts with far greater weight towards my degree. So I don’t have as much time as I would like to spend on my hobby of writing (or indeed, anything else!).
However, it may please you to know that I do think about my stories often. I plan out the outlines in my head (TCI, in particular, takes up a lot of time in the planning stages alone, although I already have the solution to the mystery clearly in my mind, but figuring out clues that lead up to that denouement is another matter entirely). I have written out a couple of complete scenes (like with the sequel to “Junctions” – I wanted to post that scene as a teaser, before realizing it would be cruel to give you such a climatic scene and make you wait ages to see the rest play out).
Some of you have asked about my Nuke fanfiction. Well, that too is in the planning stages. Working with existing characters within an existing universe is new for me. I don’t know if I’d be allowed to post the story here as I’m a bit murky about JUB’s stance on using copyrighted characters. So the story (when it’s completed) will probably be posted on the boards of the fansite for the actor who plays Luke (fans of Nuke will know what this is).
Another idea I’m working on is a one-off story to add to the “Doing Hard Time” universe. I’m still trying to figure out if that’s a good idea. I don’t want to be seen as flogging the proverbial dead horse. If I do write it, it will probably revolve around the theme of Harrison’s first meeting with his uncle, and also clearing up the mystery of his biological father’s death. Tell me if you think I should go ahead with this idea.
I’m still thinking up a title for the “Junctions” sequel. The current working title is “Where the Road May Lead”. I’ll briefly summarise the storylines I hope (intend) to pursue in this sequel. Basically it’s going to be a bit darker than “Junctions”, but not lacking in over-the-top dramatics. Kyle’s going to start the new term depressed over his parents’ reaction to his coming-out. Allie finds her budding romance with Todd threatened when her newly-single roommate Kirsten hits on him. Both these things prompt Troy to come out of the closet to his college mates, but that may not have been such a good idea, especially when Kyle’s feelings for him are in doubt following the reappearance of a high schoolmate. And last but not least, Neil and Sean run into relationship problems when the former feels the latter is demanding too much – you guessed it – sex. All in all, it promises to be a good romp, when I finally get to writing it that is. I wish I could get down to writing it ASAP, but I hope you understand when I say it’ll have to wait.
Cheers

Justin
