This one looks really tatty but I like the depth of the pic.

WoW!!

Great pics, Stan! Thanks!

I really love those aerial views of places.

I recognize some of the buildings... the National Palace of Culture is in the first and second pictures.

Is that St. Nedelya Church in the second picture? And Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in the fourth picture?

In the third picture, the building at the bottom of the pic... is that the National Assembly Building?

Sophia has an interesting mixture of buildings. I've loved all the pictures of the cathedral.

The City Hall looks lovely buzzj, can you tell us more about it? When was it built? Style of architecture, etc....?

buttons, the building was built in 1892 and is an example of Richardsonian Romanesque architecture... now it's off to Google for me! I've never heard of "Richardsonian Romanesque"! ;)

Same here, I googled it as well and lo-and-behold I have seen an example of it up close when I was in Toronto last year. I knew there was something vaguely familiar ;)

I like what wikipedia had to say: "The style began in the East, in and around Boston and while it was losing favor there it was gaining popularity further west. Thus the stone carvers and masons appear to have surfed the style west until it died out in the early years of the 20th century"

The Ontario Legislative Assembly in Toronto.
This is the only pic I have of the building that came out right. I tried taking pics of the carvings but they're all out of focus #-o
