There are more people your age than you think. I am friends with a 67 year old, a 39 year old and a 45 year old. It can't hurt to make friends with someone that is younger than you.

And, a lot of the younger people are surprisingly mature.
 
Quite right, Robbie. I've seen my share of some mature youngsters and some really asinine adults on these forums.

Most people on the internet are more 'themselves' anyways. I mean, you can be stoic and quiet in real life but when you don't have to deal with face-to-face ethics you can just hang back and let go of the restraints.
 
I love the wide range of ages on JUB. The young Jubbers are full of youthful energy.

All internet forums have their oddballs. I don't doubt there's people here under 18, but most people seem mature enough to know better.

I think that the big problem is that the stupid, wrong, immature people talk louder.

It's metaphorical, before you point out the many flaws.

Basically, what I mean is that you notice the worse posts more, and the worse they are the more attention they get. There are a fair few members whose every thread will gain a ton of replies. This is because it's a racist attack or something, and ten or fifteen people will be coming up with flaws in everything they say.

Maturity and age aren't as connected as people think. Age is a contributing factor to maturity, but it's not the only one, and a lack of balance with all factors will show.
