Why is there moderation in CE&P at all??? Every time I've ventured in there it seems like a pack of monkeys flinging poo at each other. There's no sharing of ideas. No debated positions. No reasoned discourse.
CE&P should be a moderation free zone. Just let those who choose go at it tooth and nail. But anyone who brings it outside of CE&P gets immediately and permanently hit with the Ban Hammer.
It would free them up to speak their mind, and the rest of us could look in for entertainment.

No, it would just turn loose the trolls to invite their friends from places like Stormfront and the liberal counterparts to bury the place in even more lies, and call names, and end any possibility of actual expression.

A bit more moderation needs added -- like, when people repeat a lie that has been shown by multiple contributors to be false, and a mod has warned about perpetuating that lie, they should have to pay $50/month or fifty cents a word to post at all.

The fact that I had to get fifteen stitches in my pinky finger after cutting it on the back gate of my building. I'm very upset about it...and the way it happened. That is my vent. I could go on about how fucked up my Sunday was...but that was the worst of it.

It's that, and more. The uneven moderation is what I'm pissed off about. Some get away with breaking the CoC, some don't. They look away from some people's posts but press the delete button on others, even if it says the exact same thing.

And I've found out a long time ago it doesn't do a bit of good to even try and discuss it with the so-called "staff". They have an Us vs Them mentality where they're believe they're correct every time. Questions and comments are either ignored or deleted. And they always.... always ..... watch each other's back.

There even was a staff member who trashed me and called me names in private messages and in the same sentence asked how he can earn my respect.

That's what we're dealing with so it's best not to even bother.

Just needed to vent.

This is what I'm thinking, don't hesitate to tell me I'm crazy, others have.
You guys know you can't let loose and say what you want without getting shown the door?
How 'bout this.... you all make up a list of public sites, that anyone can join, and when you need to take it up a notch, you invite the opponent(s) to step outside? Eventually these sites will ban you, but so what, you just move to the next site. You can say your piece, and remain a member in good standing.
But leave a link so the rest of us can follow and watch.

I love how this one guy called me a prude because I wouldn't use poppers with him. Sorry, but even if I was gonna have sex with said guy, it would be drug free.

How could that happen????

Well...one person was pulling the gate open (me) from one side and the person I was with didn't realize I still had my hand on the gate when they decided to push the gate from the inside. My finger got caught in one of the bars and a metal sign affixed to the gate (condo association sign about report any suspicious activity, please don't slam gate, etc)... It was very messy. And I already had a terrible day and had just left the damn hospital. Just to turn around to go get stitches.

I was wondering the same. As one who has dealt with landlord-tenant issues, I'm speculating as to whether the landlord is responsible for the medical bill.

It would be an association issue. And I'm not suing my condo association. Period. Besides...I have one of the best PPO's like EVER. I think i'm paying like...20 bucks for the entire affair.

No one did that to your "Sunday" but yourself! Stay focused!!!!!!

There's some serious fucking drama going on at work, and while I intended to not get dragged into it, there came a point where I really had to.

One of my coworkers (let's call him Bob) has a really petty vendetta against another coworker (let's call him Tom). It's been going on for six months, and while they've both told me horror stories about each other, I'm sure the truth is somewhere in the middle.

So, Bob is leaving soon, and he thinks I'm "on his side" in this purse fight (as I said, I've been trying very hard to steer clear of this, but I smile and nod whenever he talks shit about Tom). I didn't have a lot of respect for him because of the way he goes on about Tom, but this really made me lose all respect for him. He asked me straight-up if I wanted to go over to Tom's house and set off gunshot fireworks behind his house.

Normally I wouldn't really give a shit about this kind of petty bullshit, but Tom has a wife and a kid, which really pushed me over to Tom's side of the spat. If it was just Tom being affected by Bob's little intimidation games I wouldn't have gotten involved, but the fact that there are two innocents in this really got my goat. So I phoned a couple of my close family members, asked what I should do, and they both told me to tell Tom about it (I was originally going to tell our boss about it, which I now realise would have been a bad idea; I'm glad I asked). So, I informed Tom. It's really in his hands right now, but as the situation is extremely charged at the moment, I told Tom that if he needed me to have his back on it I'd be happy to help. Time will tell if that was a bad choice.

The good part about this now is that I've gained a fairly powerful friend in the company (he's very knowledgeable about the products and services we provide, so it'll be a very good thing to have him on my side); as far as I can see, there's not much of a downside, aside from Bob maybe making my life hell for the last two weeks he's there. I'm just glad he's quitting; I'd much rather not deal with his petty bullshit any more.

Actually yeah....someone did. That's why I had to press charges on them. This happened after that. So..My Sunday was fucked up and that was the icing on the cake. So I would advise you ask for facts before making a generalization.

I just got to San Francisco for a week vacation... I am totally not used to this much traffic compared to where I live and work.

I was white nuckling it it big time, and quite near an anxiety/panic attack.

I can't believe my friend's cunty racist wife unfriended me on facebook this week... tbh, I more annoyed at my own annoyance than anything else.

I usually just skim over her posts, but this week she posted this ridiculous anti-Muslim, anti-Obama tirade on Facebook and I couldn't help but call her out on it. like, seriously? with all the brown people Obama's killed via drone attacks, you really think he's in the pocket of the Muslim religion? (ignoring the fact that there is no real monolithic Islam any moreso than there's a monolithic Christian church)

that family is so fucked. the wife is a total shut-in with no friends outside of her family... their son is homeschooled and I'd be genuinely shocked if he had any regular interaction with other children outside of family events (since the mom is a shut-in and he's home schooled... not like he's making friends at school or his mom is taking him to the park to play). I bet that Aryan fucker is going to bomb a Planned Parenthood in 10 years.

Were you able to enjoy the hills? I "had fun" on those upward hills that end at a traffic light, and you feel your car roll backward each time you let go of the brake when the light turns green again (and before you get your car moving forward). The oh-so considerate driver behind you of course is basically tail-gating you the whole way.

Haven't really been here long enough to experience the hills yet... but I can imagine what you mean. Parts of Seattle can be like that. I'm in Daley City, CA - it was considerably cheaper than downtown San Francisco. I guess Pride is this/next week too- which I didn't know, and there's some kind of "Bart" train strike going on... Who knows what traffic nightmares might be ahead.

The dollar store is great. I bought an ipad case for $1.25
Why buy bandages for $3-5 when I can literally buy the same thing as in a drugstore
I shampoo with baby shampoo. Experts have said its just detergent with costly extra ingredients

So far San Francisco has been culture shock. I saw a black woman shoplifting in Dollar Tree. A Hispanic was openly speeding in the parking lot. Way more homeless beggars and mentally challenged than I thought would be running around. I'm thrilled by all the ethnicity represented here. Back home is predominantly white and Hispanics.

... and I've still mostly been in the suburb of San Francisco, and not been in down town proper yet. I'm amazed at how all the houses are row houses attached to one another. San Francisco seems larger, dirtier, and "stranger" than Portland OR Seattle.

Went to two Goodwills. They were smaller than the ones back home.

Culture shock aside, I'm having fun.
