It is weird to me that all of a sudden there are people up in arms about people having to work on the Holidays. It seems like something that kicked into high gear this year and I am confused by it cause people working on Holidays is nothing new. I am assuming this is just a cool facebook cause to get behind or something.
 
I wish I could get my SO to understand how the holidays make my anxiety levels sky rocket.

when it's just me and him, I'm fine... but even big family gettogethers by myself make me panic attack-y; having him in that equation would just be one more variable to have to stress about. even when I was a kid, I wanted nothing to do with them. I'd stay in my room until my parents yelled at me to come out and socialize, then I'd stay out with the gathering until my parents weren't paying attention anymore (at which point I'd go back to hiding). as an adult, I wouldn't have anything to do with them at all if it weren't for feelings of obligation/guilt.

That is bonkers. Why would the relatively arbitrary order of the alphabet matter more than their logical narrative sequence?

I forgave all the debate around Chronicles of Narnia; they were published "out of sequence" in Narnian time, so occasionally they would be listed by publication date instead of chronological order. But alphabetical would have been just ridiculous.

I mean what kind of publisher would even do that? Oh, I know. Maybe the newspaper should print its stories in alphabetical order, instead of laying them out according to newsworthiness.

Oh, even better! Maybe each story should list the words in alphabetical order. That would make much more sense.

I remember being so excited when one of my Redwall books came with a list of all of them listed in the order that they take place. I think at the time there were maybe 15 or so. I think the final count is 23 since the writer has passed. I've read all of them except for the last one (I bought it, but it remains unopened).

I think having them in alphabetical order is pretty useless.

I wish I could remember which series it was, but one author wrote a bunch of books, but they didn't come out in chronological order story-wise, and what the publisher did was list them in story order, with the publication date off to the side in parenthesis -- beautiful!

The series I happen to be complaining about is bad enough, in that books three through six take place hundreds of years before books one and two, but listing them in alphabetical order just compounds confusion.
