I agree that
Dark Twisted Fantasy is just merely okay. It's surely not the masterpiece he intended it to be. Most of the songs on the album go on past the time that they should end. Off of the top of my head, the album versions of "Blame Game", "Runaway" and "Gorgeous" should be about three minutes shorter than they are on the LP. It seems like he didn't have any kind of editor at all for this album. The same with the film, he tried to fit as many ideas, guest artists and musical gimmicks into a song as possible. And as the listener, he came across as lost in most of the tracks. Whatever message he was trying to sell and convey got muddled in all of the guitar riffs, piano keys and Nicki Minaj verses. The desperation of him wanting people to laud him as a musical virtuoso comes across all too clear on the new album.
But it's an okay album imo. I'm stunned the reviews for it have been raves..I think Entertainment Weekly declared
Fantasy as being a better album that Late Registration.

Umm...how about, no? lol
