Kelly Rowland has officially reached the top 10 with her rising single "Motivation". On charts released by Billboard Thursday, Rowland's hit single is not only the week's top airplay gainer on the R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart, it also climbed past singles like "Run The World (Girls)" to reach the Billboard Hot 100.

Now in its seventh week on the chart, "Motivation" jumped 11-6 Thursday, becoming the week's top airplay gainer on the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Songs tally -- a feat for Rowland, whose previous records on that chart were "Stole" and "Like This," the latter reached no.7 in 2007. "Motivation" therefore becomes her highest charting single to date as a solo act on the chart, following a feature with Nelly on"Dilemma," which topped the chart in 2002.

In related news, Rowland's "Motivation" is also climbing the coveted Billboard Hot 100. Rocketing 54 to no.43, the single surpassed music from Destiny's Child cohort Beyonce (48-33, "Run The World (Girls)" ). The Lil Wayne featured track is also Rowland's fourth to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 (baring features like "Dilemma" and "When Love Takes Over").

"Motivation" precedes the singer's forthcoming third studio album, set for release via Universal/Motown.

A video for "Motivation" was released earlier this year.

Many doubted, and are now believers. Kelly Rowland has a bonafide hit on her hands with ‘Motivation’!

The seductive cut currently sits at #6 on the Billboard R&B tally and has amassed an airplay audience of almost 30 million from Urban & Rhythmic radio alone.

With much of this due to its hit video, new behind the scenes footage of the clip reminds us why we fell in love with it in the first place. Check it out after the jump…

Kelly Rowland's Single Is Doing Better Than Beyonce's On iTunes!

kelly-rowland-beat-beyonce__oPt.jpg

Wow! How times have changed!

Kelly Rowland is finally securing some traction as a solo artist, as her new song with Lil' Wayne, Motivation, is pulling in solid numbers, and has even hit the #31 spot on top iTunes-selling singles…which is about 24 spots higher than the latest from her former Destiny's Child group member, Beyonce, whose Run The World (Girls) is now at #55!

Cray cray! Nothing against Kelly, but wow!

We never thought we'd see the day!

Congrats, gurl!

We really want to see your solo career take off!

Count me in as another who likes Kelly Rowland's Motivation. I originally didn't care for it, but it certainly has grown on me. I am very happy that she's doing well as a solo artist. It's very clear what Destiny's Child member is running the charts right now, and it's not Beyonce...

I've been hearing about this album for the longest. Is Commander, Rose Colored Glasses, Grown Ass Woman, and Forever and a Day still gonna be on the album? I really hope that the album is good and she has her chance to shine. But my anticipation for her is dwindling.

I still haven't forgiven Beyonce for that weak "buzz" single. My delusional self believes that her management/camp caved to fan anticipation and rushed 'Girls'. I'm hoping "Til the End of the World" is 1000x times better.

Good for Kelly. "Motivation" is a great single. It's sexy, throwback 90s vibe is just in time for the summer. I couldn't be any happier that this song is receiving as much airplay as it is. Kelly deserves for the public to finally recognize the fact that she's a star in her own right.

And Run the World (Girls) is just a shitty song. It's made of AIDS and fail. I love Beyoncé but it's insulting to even lump both of these two songs in the same sentence let alone the same Billboard chart. It's about time she flopped so she can regain the same hunger that helped Kelly rise from underneath the shadows.

I agree. ..|

New Video: Alex Gaudino & Kelly Rowland – ‘What A Feeling’

kellyrr-e1279696586919-726x1023.jpg

Kelly Rowland dons her dancing shoes in the video for ‘What A Feeling’ – her collaboration with Italian DJ, Alex Gaudino.

Directed by Frank Gatson, the vibrant clip comes at the aptest of times; for, with the (Europe-only) song now playlisted at every major radio station across the UK, its visual will no doubt give it a boast as the summer approaches.

Check out Ms. Kelly soaking up and the sun and dancing up a stom after the jump…

Favouring Rowland’s ‘Forever & A Day’ video, this excels where the former did and didn’t. Vibrant, lush, and colourful, the clip really captures the essence of the song well. What’s more, with choreography having been absent from many of Rowland’s Dance offerings, she delivered on that front too (kudos to Chris Grant on routine). That said, I’m still waiting for Kelly pop, lock, and drop it as she did in the ‘Lose My Breath’ video. I guess with the right song?

In any case, good stuff.

Randomness: Was that Rihanna in that dusty red wig?

Yeah, love 'Motivation'. I've been a Kelly fan since Destiny's Child. Of course, she was overshadowed by Beyonce. It's good she's getting the spotlight now!

I just wish she didn't have that jackass Lil Wayne on the track. What exactly did he add? Nothing!

New Single Soars to No. 6 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Songs ChartRowland’s Third Solo Album to Be Released This Fall

NEW YORK -- Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter-actress-dancer KELLY ROWLAND has scored a Top 10 hit with her scorching new single “Motivation,” featuring Lil Wayne, which has soared to No. 6 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart with more than 123,000 units sold in just three weeks. Produced by Jim Jonsin and written by Rico Love, “Motivation” is the lead single from ROWLAND’s upcoming third solo album, to be released by Universal Motown in Fall 2011.

“Motivation” was made available for purchase at iTunes on April 12 and immediately became the No. 1 most-added single at urban radio. It is currently the No. 1 Greatest Gainer on the BDS Urban Chart for its fourth consecutive week as well as the No. 1 Greatest Gainer on the Mediabase Urban Published Chart for its second consecutive week, in addition to holding the No. 4 spot on iTunes’ Top R&B/Soul Songs chart. “Motivation” is also climbing Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, its Digital Songs chart, and its Ringtones chart. Directed by Sarah Chatfield, choreographed by Frank Gatson, and styled by Lysa Cooper, the seductive music video for “Motivation” has topped iTunes’ Top R&B/Soul Videos chart, ranked in the Top 10 of iTunes’ overall Top Music Videos Chart, and is quickly approaching 10 million views on VEVO.

In addition to making a huge impact on the charts, “Motivation” is winning praise from the media. People magazine recently spotlighted “Motivation” in its Hot Singles column and describes it as a “hypnotic grinder.” Perez Hilton calls the track “VERY impressive!” and TheFader.com writes, “[‘Motivation’] may prove to be the most ‘emotionally supportive sex song’ of 2011.”

NEW MUSIC: DA BRAT F/ KELLY ROWLAND – ‘MOTIVATION (SO SO DEF REMIX)’

da-brat-kelly-rowland.jpg

Da Brat continues her remix rampage, sinking her teeth into Kelly Rowland’s “Motivation” with a freaky verse. “I got a lot of thug in me, it’s cockiness/ Now I got a lot of thug in me, wink wink, we’re just cock in this,” spits the So So Def rapper on her unofficial remix. Take it to the bedroom with Da-Brat-Tat-Tat.

Jim Jonsin Happy to See Kelly Rowland Win

kelly-hair.jpg

Kelly Rowland is swiftly climbing the charts with her Lil Wayne-assisted single “Motivation,” and her peers couldn’t be happier for her success, including the song’s producer Jim Jonsin.

After a few attempts to break a single, the Destiny’s Child diva finally has a hit on her hands. “I’m really happy that things are going well for her on this record. A real concern for us was to get that smash for her,” the hitmaker told Rap-Up.com. “She’s a friend of ours as well, so to see her win is huge.”

In addition to “Motivation,” Jonsin and Rico Love recorded three other songs for Kelly’s third album Here I Am, due this fall. “I think we cut a total of four songs with Rico Love and myself,” he added. “I did something with Wayne Wilkins. There’s a couple uptempo songs and we did another midtempo record.”

Jonsin also produced an upbeat collaboration for Kelly and Pitbull called “Castle of Sand,” which is expected to appear on Pitbull’s upcoming album Planet Pit.

Kelly Rowland Set To Replace Dannii Minogue On 'The X Factor'

Good replacement...

Former Destiny's child singer Kelly Rowland is being lined up as the next star to join the UK X Factor after Dannii Minogue was sensationally booted off the reality talent show.

Rowland, 30, is in talks to replace Minogue, despite her act Matt Cardle winning the X Factor last year, reports The Sun.

This news follows after Tulisa Constavolos, 22, from N-Dubz has signed up as a judge, despite worries about her swearing on the live shows.

Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole have already left to pursue X Factor USA, which means that Louis Walsh may be the only remaining judge on the show.

Take That singer Gary Barlow will also be joining him on the panel.

An insider told the newspaper: "Simon has been telling producers he wants Kelly Rowland and Tulisa from N-Dubz and the simple fact is there wasn't room for everyone.

"Something had to give - and that something was Dannii."

Rowland has carved out her own solo career since Destiny's Child, working with the likes of David Guetta and Lil' Wayne.

Would Kelly Rowland be a good judge on X Factor?

Kelly Rowland Responds to Beyonce Comparisons

kelly-rowland-456cm051311.jpg

As Kelly Rowland preps for the release of her third solo album, the former Destiny's Child singer is tired of talking about one subject: Beyonce. Rowland, who has long looked at her one-time group member as a sister, is not fond of the press pitting the two against each other, and even more enraged that someone consistently gets overlooked.

"What pisses me off the most is the fact that they leave Michelle [Williams] out," Kelly Rowland tells the BoomBox. "Michelle is such a huge part of Destiny's Child. It's very disrespectful in that sense, its three members of Destiny's Child, not two."

Since going their separate ways, all three DC members have focused on solo careers. While Beyonce is the most commercially successful, Rowland has garnered a few notable hits in her own right. Her latest, 'Motivation' featuring Lil Wayne, has received solid buzz, and sits at No. 33 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

Rowland was originally rumored to be putting out a dance-themed album but as she got to work on her latest LP, 'Here I Am,' the Texas native was more focused on the content of the project versus the genre.

"At one point in time everybody was like, 'You should be this, you should be that.' For a second I was like 'F it all! How do I feel?' I just started recording and everything that I started recording fell in the same line and the same pocket. 'Motivation' came about and I was like, 'Oh my God! I want my fans to hear this!' Then other songs started to come and I was working with Tricky [Stewart] and RodneyJerkins [Jerkins] and all these people, everything fell into place. I didn't allow anybody to categorize me at the final process of this record. Nobody puts Kelly in the corner!

"I just wanted other people to know 'here I am,' period. Nobody judging, nobody dictates where I go or what I do. It's me as a person and as a woman. It feels good to be in that space and I just wanted to share that on the record."

In the coming weeks the Grammy winner will drop her next single, which she is keeping under wraps. 'Here I Am' will be released this fall.
