And what a winner he turned out to be. Post-acquittal, domestic violence, aggrevated assault, copyright infringement, domestic .battery on another girlfriend and attacked her father.

The man who was arrested multiple times and has a long history of violence is the hero and let us not forget the teenager buying skittles for his little brother with zero arrests ever was the one the American public brandished a thug. Anyone who says we are colorblind and justice is equal and blackness isn't criminalized is willfully ignorant at this point. I'm almost getting tired of posting evidence to the contrary. Speaking of "contrary to fact," Philando Castile wasn't a felon, but I can see how one might make that mistake seeing as how he's African American.

The other sentence you were responding to is factual as well, an unlawful arrest is legally tantamount to an assault and one has the legal right to resist up to and including using deadly force. It's not illegal to kill a cop in self defense, not that I imagine that doctorine has ever saved any man of color from unlawful arrest.

No -- the place to oppose an unlawful arrest is in court, not with a gun at the time. The source of that claim on the internet is a "sovereign citizen" advocate involved in right-wing "militias".

Also, I deeply resent simplistic notion that a person with a felony on their record can't be a good guy. That's.... terrible. For a lot of reasons.

A felon in possession of a gun is not a good guy, he's committing another felony.

Amazing that you oppose lawful self-defense but you support someone violating gun laws!

Zimmerman wasn't a felon. And the "George Zimmerman is the NRA" statement came from the leader of the Brady bunch, not from the NRA.

Yes, the NRA stands up for cops as a knee-jerk reaction too often -- but also they gave the warning that "if you have a badge, you have the government's go-ahead to harass, intimidate, even murder law-abiding citizens".

You seem to be saying that cops are felons; the truth is that it's easier for a felon to join the Army than to become a police officer.

As for Trayvon Martin, I don't know anyone who called him a "thug"; the NRA didn't.

You seem to be getting your ideas about the NRA from its most irrational opponents.

Who said Zimmerman was a hero? The NRA certainly didn't, though the HuffPost accused them of it.
