Kevin Bacon Wants To See More Male Nudity In Hollywood

OMG! How dare you ask the poor little straight boys to give an inch for equality! Clearly, you are a militant homosexual, and will next be storming churches demanding to be accepted!

LOL! Hardly! I only go to churches that accept gays and everyone else for who they are. There are more and more churches out there that don't judge. Yeah, straight boys can be kind of greedy with aspects of U.S. life they take for granted when it comes to giving and sharing a little with the gays and the ladies.

yes its homophobia but being masked as misogyny when its just mostly homophobia, the jews play a big part in the homophobia

there are instances where gay men get away with a lot of homoerotic behavior in other media forms, not talking about porn, but it is out there, because of hollywoods lack of homosexual content

I appreciate seeing handsome male actors naked/half naked but honestly can see absolutely no reason why there should be nudity in films. It is nice and I do like it but honestly don't see it as being necessary to the story line.

Do I think the absence of male genitals in major commercial films is due to innate homophobia? Absolutely not.

The penis scares most women and straight men.

I'd much rather see a really good movie with zero sex and nudity, than a mediocre movie with lots of eye candy and fake intercourse.

I want full frontal in every movie! I live for that. Good for Kevin Bacon.

Discovery's 'Naked and Afraid' is an equal-opportunity censor. It must cost them a fortune to insert the blur.

Comic remarks aside, the male nude is just as valid as the female, and Mr. Bacon is courageous to say so.

That said, I've never enjoyed the heavy injection of nude scenes into otherwise good movies. Very rarely is eroticism the driving force of the drama, and when it is, more left to the imagination is better in my view.

Porn has its place. Good drama doesn't need the nudity. A good script and good acting don't need T&A to carry the precious minutes that the screenplay has to tell its tale.

I think James Franco nails it in his commentary in Interior. Leather Bar. Sexuality should be able to be part of the storyteller's art and craft. He'd argue that the art form has failed to make use of it, either allowing it only in its most silly, debased, and attention-getting form, or refusing it entirely in a fit of prudery.

He struck me as right in everything he said.

In most english-speaking cinema, sexuality is either conspicuously absent in a pathetic bowdlerisation of real life, or conspicuously present, in a pathetic tabloidisation of real life.

I hope to see more of it, done well, and more men, especially, will help that.

But I think it is as foreign to anglophone cinema as "magic realism" is. Probably it will take a half-generation of efforts by film-makers, and a half-generation of audience education in cinematic sexual literacy, before we see it done well and appreciated well.

I've seen Kevin Bacon full frontal in Wild Things.
Damned nice!
If every male actor looked as good naked as he did, they should all show themselves off! :D

This a cultural... In many european movie, we see full frontal, well lit male nudity...

In the movie Schindler's list there is a scene in a concentration camp where all the jews are stripped naked before going to the gas chambers, and we see people fully naked, and when this masterpiece of a movie was shown on tv for the first time, then-senator Tom Coburn "said that in airing the film, NBC had brought television "to an all-time low, with full-frontal nudity, violence and profanity", adding that it was an insult to "decent-minded individuals everywhere" " (source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schindler%27s_List#Controversies)

See, to me that just illustrates the horror of the Holocaust. How could anyone even think of deriving anything sexual from that?

REALLY?! They're acting as though they aired a hardcore porno on TV! Did they ignore the entire premise of the movie and then only focus on that scene, which is accurate to what actually happened?

Also, look at this... FOX Denver shows a penis on TV, and the reaction is amazing...
