Kevin Bacon Wants To See More Male Nudity In Hollywood

You really need to be a graduate from one of the more prestigious universities to be capable of understanding the logic, wit and depth of Sloppy's comments."

In the Age of Information, Ignorance is a Choice.

I have a PHd from the University of Michigan and I find it nonsense though I manage to make my way through it, but I found it a waste of time based on the lack of message. I am deeply sorry, and mean no disrespect to you or SloppySeconds.

See, to me that just illustrates the horror of the Holocaust. How could anyone even think of deriving anything sexual from that?
It certainly wasn't suitable for date night. Besides. Tom Coburn is a horse's ass.

This is the infamous scene from Women in Love. (1969) Regarded as erotic by critics, it seems rather mild by today's standards.

I don't watch films/movies any more ... but surely in this day-and-age they can have all the nudity they want using CGI.

We need to mount a campaign for more nudity in movies and TV and stop censoring of movies and TV programs that have already been released.

Back in the day (1967) a book was published called The Naked Ape. (author Desmond Morris).

He was wondering why the word penis - something that shoots life is forbidden, but the word gun - which shoots death is not.

ANECDOTE WARNING:

At the cafeteria in one of my workplaces, a psychotic co-worker of mine and I were sitting at a square table. He insisted that we sit across from each because "someone will think we're gay." Go figure.

Extending this to the cinema, if a straight guy likes a movie with some frontal nudity, "someone will think he's gay." [-X
I get a kick out of 2 guys that are at the cinema, who put popcorn or drinks on the middle seat,so they don't have to sit next to each other,so no one will think they are gay.Too funny

Even though the 20th century was more anti-gay it appears that in the 21st century guys have developed new forms of homophobia that exist even in those not opposed to full equality for the LGBT community. For some reason now guys are more afraid of being considered gay than they were before. Another example of this is shy guys who didn't want to shower or change in front of other guys in the 20th century were considered sissy or gay but now it's the other way around; it's supposedly now considered gay to change and shower with other guys. Why are straight guys more afraid to be considered gay than their predecessors, even though many of today's younger straight guys support gay rights? As a gay man I wouldn't be afraid, upset, or offended if someone mistook me for being straight. It just goes to show that homophobia and the stigma of being gay is still very much alive since guys would still consider it bad to be even thought of as a homosexual. It just goes to show they are insecure about their heterosexuality and masculinity. It seems men feel they have to prove those things more now just in different ways. Men of the past weren't supposed to cry, etc. to prove this. Men of today are afraid of male nudity in all sorts of ways, a real hug or handshake, using a urinal without a partition, or shower without a curtain/stall/wall, changing together, skinny dipping, sitting next to each other in the theater, etc. Homophobia still exists just in different forms.

I really wish you would take a moment to learn what 'homophobia' means.

^ This seems to be a rather half-assed observation.

If the guys you see doing this are straight and want to be seen as available/single, of course they don't want women to get the wrong impression. < That's not homophobia.

Have you never been out and about with your sister, mother, female friends, etc. and had someone think that you were 'with' them – as in; a couple? Did you try to make it clear that you weren't 'with' them – a couple? < That's not heterophobia. ;)

Kevin Bacon Wants More Gratuitous Male Nudity in Film: "Gentlemen, It's Time to Free the Bacon"

Lack of male nudity is gender inequality like Kevin Bacon says, but also homophobia.

Many straight guys go out of their way to prove they aren't gay. I don't see why this is necessary. If they feel they have to prove they are not something then they must really see something wrong with being gay or homosexuality as inferior.

I dunno. If I were forced at gunpoint to fingerbang a vagina I'd at least ask if I could have a cock in my mouth so it didn't feel so hetero. Hah! Just human nature.

I saw Karate Kid II come on one of the cable channels a few weeks ago at a friend's house. I noticed that they cut out the shower room scene that happens right after the flashbacks of the first movie that is at the beginning of the movie. I know the DVD/Blu-ray/VHS/Netflix has the scene (not sure if future releases will cut it out). The shower room scene in part II takes place after the tournament of part I in the same building in the locker room shower. Daniel is on his own showerhead pole showering while a few other guys showering are on the one behind his. You only see Daniel from the waist up and the room is steamy which blurs out the nudity of the guys in the background but if you pause it or look hard enough you can make out a buttocks and butt crack and possibly another butt and some nudity but you really can't see much or make anything out that vividly. Mr. Miyagi is looking away from the shower room and standing to the side of the opening of the shower room and talking and joking with Daniel while holding his towel and then handing it to him as he walks out after his shower. I'm not sure why they chose to cut this scene from the showing on cable television because this is the theatrical version I believe and I'm pretty sure its been on TV before. It was implied on The Next Karate Kid (part 4) with Hilary Swank that Daniel and Miyagi had no problem changing in front of one another being of the same sex. That was his excuse for accidentally walking in on Julie (Swank) while changing with her bra exposed. I guess certain scenes are no longer politically correct anymore but it seems to always be scenes that are regarding male nudity or implied male nudity.

Do any of you know of any other situations like this or other forms of censorship of male nudity in film and being cut from films that previously had it?

Well guys I'm going to suggest to keep your VHS, DVD, and Blu-ray copies of Karate Kid II or buy some soon, ones that haven't been re-released this year, I'm not sure if the cable TV editing out of the shower room scene after the beginning flashbacks scenes is any indication of what future releases will look like but just to be on the safe side...

Ironically there was a Karate Kid marathon that started more than a few hours ago on the Hallmark Channel, a different channel than I saw Karate Kid II before, this channel too edits out the locker room shower scene of Karate Kid II.

Maybe homophobia could be the wrong word but if it's not anti-gay, then it is at the very least anti-male and anti-nudity or anti-implied male nudity. You never see this type of censorship happen to scenes of females on any re-release of any movie.

I wonder if by today's standards a clothed Miyagi shooting the shit with Daniel while he was taking a shower amongst other young nude males and holding and handing Daniel's towel is now considered inappropriate and/or creepy and if society doesn't want younger viewers to see or be aware that guys once showered together back in the 80s and that is was once considered completely okay and NOT GAY.

I'd think that Kesuke Miyagi holding the towel for Daniel and handing it to him was considered a respectful thing that was part of his culture as a karate sensei and a Japanese American. This scene sort of showed a sense of bonding between them as close friends, teacher and student, and Miyagi being sort of a father figure to Daniel. In part 4 it was told to Julie that he and Daniel had no issue with being nude or changing in front of one another since they were both guys. It just goes to show you that culture has changed a lot since it is now considered gay, homoerotic, or inappropriate for straight males to be nude in each other's presence.

Go out and buy Karate Kid II! I already own the unedited version on VHS, DVD, and Blu-ray.

If you want to buy a PG movie with a scene with lots of athletic football player butts and jockstraps then buy Steel Magnolias and watch how Shirley MacLaine and her female friend who is a reporter are in the locker room with a bunch of nude guys (it wouldn't fly if it was the other way around). Shirley is checking out the dudes while pretending to do her mascara in the compact mirror. Get it before they censor it too.

Been trying to find the scene in Tango & Cash where you get to see Russell's and Stallone's naked asses. Obviously I haven't, or I would've posted it.

This is a bad example because it was on TBS, which very heavily censors the movies they air... but they cut the scene in "Road Trip" where the sperm bank nurse gives Stiffler a very loud anal orgasm.
I have seen that movie on other channels without the sperm bank scene cut out though.

(Also, I just want to add that as a teenager, seeing Seann William Scott getting fingered was just one of the greatest things I could ever see on TV! :-))
