  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Know what I don't understand...

Well, to make absolutely sure I didn't miss anything this time, I just reread the whole thread. And I still don't see anything which says "yes, us bi guys are as bad as you all make us out be. It's true. I don't know why we ever disagreed with you." Now I'm not sure that none of the 100000 members on JUB has ever posted such a comment, but I'm not sure exactly how to feed that into the search engine of the more than 1 million posts made thus far in the history of the boards. So I didn't before reacting to comments made in THIS thread. Still, please be gracious with your infinite wisdom to point me and all of us to the thread/s where all the bi guys admit to this strange behaviour you seem to find simultaneously lurking under every rock and standing prominently in the window display of every one of your favourite stores. Nevertheless, why should we have to pipe up to say "That may be true of the general population, but it's not true of me" every single time one of you decides to make a sweeping generalisation? For fuck's sake, we'd have 100 million blonde women replying to every single blonde joke saying "That may be true of the general population, but it's not true of me" every time someobdy cracked a joke, we'd have billions of women saying the same thing every time anyone mentioned that women can't parallel park a car properly. Here's a thought... how about you just don't issue sweeping generalisations like you're some kind of fucking expert on it? I'm not saying things like "Hey - a southerner from Alabama. He must be an inbred racist, routinely have had sex with his sister and enjoy nothing more than eating possum while going on a Klan march on a daily basis. They all do down there, you know" am I? I can if you'd prefer it, but I'm sure the other Southerners might take issue with it. So you've known 50 or 75 bi guys - well done. 10 out of 10 for effort. If you can get through a few more hundred million, you may well reach a stage where you can actually say, without fear of contradiction, that the majority act like you say they do. Once you can say so for 50%+1 individual, you're able to say that and nobody can take issue with you. But until then... your experience is unfortunately rather limited on a grander scale of things. Incidentally, I should wager that addressing all your misconceptions calmly, rationally and politely in the public forum where anyone else could respond in kind IS strapping on a pair. -d-

Why do we need all these threads with the same people saying the same things over and over?

I feel bad for those of you who are too stubborn to just get over yourselves, and that you'd shut out people because of something as stupid as this.
Maybe you should think more about your own attitude before judging who is worthy of a relationship or not.

Spoken like a true bisexual. :=D:

I think ahotjock is really keen on instigating arguments. Also, I think being such a narrow minded sort of person plays itself out eventually. I'm sure he'll learn. :)

I have to say I'm truly stunned by some of the derogatory and prejudiced comments in this thread, particularly this one from the first page:

While I do not agree with bisexual behavior in general

Replace 'bisexual' with 'homosexual' and then think about that comment. Is it really any better than what the right-wing nutcases say?
Just. Wow.

There are many men on this globe who, after having had enough of the hetero life discover settling down with a non-breeding, male partner. At least some of the resulting partnerships are said to endure for decades.
What matters are the expectations and capacities that two people bring to a relationship.
Learn to talk about problems before they erupt...without inventing problems.
That implies prep-work. Near the start of a relationship, concentrate on disinventing "problems."
