But we don't seem to want to track how many gay men choose the accounting route, or other mundane careers. We only want to see the artists.
My main point was to state that I've found lots of gays in clerical work, whether out or not, but we tend to remember the ones who are more in the arts.
But that statement conveniently ignores bisexuality. If one's orientation is to both, one may well choose a lifestyle that expresses one attraction and not the other.
I do wonder what would have happened to Nirvana had he survived the drugs and drinking. Would they have lasted, and still be relevant and popular, or turned to shit like many other 90s bands did.
I may be alone here, but I was never convinced Kurt was a genius. I also don't buy the "I never wanted to be famous" nonsense he was renowned for.

The suggestion that a lifestyle is not chosen is fallacious. The equation of lifestyle and orientation is also a problem. Many gays do not share anything as a lifetyle. Many who share a chosen lifestyle base in not on sexuality but culture.
No. To be exact, bisexuality is two orientations. If the person only expresses one, he has lived according to one of his orientations. Or, his chosen orientation has been expressed in his lifestyle. He may choose to express both, yet another lifestyle.
Expressing one or another does not make said person not Bisexual. Being attracted to two genders doesn't = two orientations.

"I am not gay, although I wish I were, just to piss off homophobes."
Eh. I preferred Alice In Chains to Nirvana if we're delving back into the lost land of grunge
