Left-wing MSNBC host Ed Schultz: "I'm not voting in the midterms"

The snake oil that our Harvard educated genius has been selling hasn't stemmed the tide of foreclosures and millions have lost their jobs on his watch. Maybe the ruling class isn't quite as smart as they would have us believe.

As to the three top republicans who you refer to, I don't know anything about their educations, nor do I really much care. The important thing to note, is that they are all successful business people. They are all multi-millionaires.

Barry doesn't know anything about business, nor do the vast majority of those who work for him as they've never met a payroll.

The salient question is this. If you need advice on fixing the economy, do you listen to somebody who has read many books and has a sheepskin to prove how smart he is? Or somebody who has actually made a go of it in terms of business success?

Having a big audience means you're a good businessperson? Seriously?

This reminds me of something Newsweek said. We want out doctors, surgeons and pilots to be the most educated, but not our politicians

what we have to acnowledge is that the Fox news channel tailors its "Facts" to what its audeince expects to see.

so it sells a product, not informs the public of any real truths. It does well to represent a phillosphy that is very destructive to gay people and it consolidates that base.

why anyone would champion an organisation on this site, when that organisation would put this site out of business through its constituents is beyond me.

Ed Shultz is not a leftist. For years he was a right wing radio host.

When he lost his show, he was ''re-invented'' as a liberal. He is not a leftist, and I don't believe he is really even a liberal. A zebra doesn't change his stripes.

More like an opportunist to me.Before I quit listening to him,I heard him constantly badmouthing REAL LEFTISTS.

Who cares if he votes or not.He had his tongue up Obama's ass throughout the primaries, and look what we got now.A weak corporatist who pisses his drawers every time Rush or Fox News says BOO!

No, making scads of money makes you a good businessman. Having an audience is the means by which to make money.

I'm not aware of any elected political office that has any educational criteria associated with it. But we routinely pass bills which no one ever bothers to read before they vote on. Do you really think anybody of either party fully understands the tax code?

I'd settle for a law that mandated legislators to fully read and understand every bill that they want to vote on. They would have to demonstrate this knowledge by a 10 question multiple choice test that they would have to score 100% on before being permitted to vote. Would you think that to be a good thing or not?

I would just settle for Fox to be about news and not ratings.

Ed may be about opinions and the problem is that libs tend to want more substance,,,I.E. Maddow and Matthews.

I agree with Jack in that he is dropping like a stone, and is pulling stunts to get ratings. That's the same thing that leaves a bad taste in my mouth with Fox.

Is it really too much to expect the news to present the facts? I know opinion shows are just entertainment, but they have begun to dominate the way americans view their country and I think that is damaging to our nation

Who writes the questions?

Who scores the tests?

Better, though: make it one question per page of legislation -- so a ten thousand page bill would require ten thousand questions.

There shouldn't be an educational requirement. But I think it's telling that many politicians mostly from the Republican party are making it into office with the bare minimum in education. Politics was usually for the elite until recently in America. In the book "What's the Matter With Kansas?" a good sized chapter talks about how the Republicans promoted wedge issues and a floodgate was opened to people usually not associated with politics.

^^^I've never heard of an NBA player being called a good businessperson for just playing basketball because they're not actually running a business. Just like I'd never call Limbaugh or Hannity or Beck a good businessperson. I always hear people complaining about NBA players making millions right out of high school. But these three mentioned just finished high school too and there's little backlash against them. In fact, people are stupid enough to take their economic advice.

I agree that there should be a requirement for lawmakers to read bills before voting. I'd even like an explanation for a vote.

You're comparing a basketball player to a broadcaster? Are you kidding? I see you're really grasping for straws. A basketball player doesn't need to open his mouth to make millions.

And nothing intelligent needs to come out of a conservative broadcaster's mouth to make millions.

Neither Abraham Lincoln nor Harry Truman went to college. Of course, back in the day, plenty of people were self educated. No doubt, Lincoln and Truman were well read, talented, smart men. Sarah Palin went to college, but look what a dope she is.

Fox is not news, and it is merchandised as entertainment. this is why the value of its content is judged by its viewers by how many people watch it, not by the honesty or validity of its content.

And to be sure... it has NO content other than to be propagandists for the republicans. Ms Angle has said just as much.

So this isn't the newest spammer account?

Can't add anything to the argument, so you have to insult me instead? The fact that you can't admit that people like Limbaugh and Beck are good businessmen is quite pathetic.

All you have to do on this site is mention Fox News, Sarah Palin, or Rush Limbaugh and you freakin' liberals go ape-shit.

Again, my theory about lliberals being the most closed minded and bigoted people is justified.

I've never understood how anyone can think a liberal is open-minded  If you don't see it their way, watch out! Be prepared to be called "racist, homophobic, warmonger, etc"

But it's obvious why they go ape-shit when you mention FOX News, Limbaugh, Palin; it makes their blood boil to see anyone on the right who's popular and successful.

Just because one is politically liberal doesn’t mean they are ideologically liberal. You’re talking about two different things as if they are the same.
