Day 117 - "Behind the Mask" - Greg Phillinganes



Strange history behind this song. Originally a huge hit in Japan by the Yellow Magic Orchestra, Michael Jackson added new lyrics and recorded it for Thriller...but ended up cutting it from the album. (This version never got released.) Greg Phillinganes, who played keyboards on the MJ version, decided to cut it himself, and had a slight R&B hit with it. A few years later, Eric Clapton cut a version, too.
