Re: Lindsay Lohan: "I wasn't driving. the BLACK kid was"

Oh man, so a scrawny, anorexic, coked-out, drunk bimbo can take three guys her age hostage? Did these guys each weigh like 90 pounds? "Hostage"...what a laugh.

Umm, when she's in the driver's seat and you're a passenger in the speeding car, it's easy to be taken hostage.

(HELLO!)

Re: Lindsay Lohan: "I wasn't driving. the BLACK kid was"

...She overpowered them, forced them to give her their car, and she forced them to get in? Did she also force them to decide that it was okay to get into a car when the driver is drunk and coked-out? Maybe she's a telepath too!

Yeah.

Yeah.

(HELLO!)

Put the bottle down. You're not handling that alcohol well or some mind altering drug.

Re: Lindsay Lohan: "I wasn't driving. the BLACK kid was"

Please, the whole idea of 'hostage' is ludicrous! What did she want, immunity from being in trouble for speeding? Was she trying to get money? Basically, she got in their car, they let her drive, they chose to get in with her, and now they probably just want to be publicly associated with a celebrity.

Lame.

Re: Lindsay Lohan: "I wasn't driving. the BLACK kid was"

She's a racist twit.
I'm still not understanding how calling someone black is racist, especially when it's the best descriptor in the situation...

Also: There were four guys. Two in the back, one in the passenger's seat, and the ex-assistant's boyfriend in the driver's seat.

Re: Lindsay Lohan: "I wasn't driving. the BLACK kid was"

Seriously I think Lindsay's career is pretty much dead..I bet anything her latest movie is going to tank at the box office this weekend. Whats wrong with these dumb sluts ( Britney, Lindsay, Nicole and Paris) you have all the money in the world, fame, and your blowing everything away! I can understand Paris, because she was born wealthy and the stupid cow doesn't know what working hard means, but Lindsay and Britney both came from nothing and worked hard for everything! I just hope that Britney gets her act together before its too late and she loses her kids.

Re: Lindsay Lohan: "I wasn't driving. the BLACK kid was"

Does this mean she's finally taken the hint and hired a driver?;)

Calling someone black isn't racist. But the way she put it, it can be perceived as racist.. as Jy_Star point. Its all about the wording and how you say it.

Bottom line is.. she didn't have to say "black kid" all she had to say was the kid in the "red or white shirt" was driving, and leave it alone. You need to avoid race altogether.

Re: Lindsay Lohan: "I wasn't driving. the BLACK kid was"

Whatever she said, it obviously didn't help. :)

Re: Lindsay pulls a Tom Cruise

...what movies? Seriously, for an actress who had as much promise as she did since her childhood and Mean Girls, she hasn't done much that turned out well or seemed anywhere near saturated. That stupid movie about Luck, her new missing movie, and Georgia Rule were the only films she had a leading role in over the past 4 years and for Georgia Rule, we know she just spent her time partying. She needs to get her act together and actually take her 'job' as an actress seriously.

Taking a break from movies isn't the issue. Scarlet Johanson needs to take a break from movies. Bitch is everywhere, and that's not a good thing.

Bobby, Prairie Home Companion, Herbie, Chapter 27, Georgia Rule.

Ignoring for the moment that she didn't say it (it was pointed out that the cop arresting the group was acting if she had said, "It was the black kid that was driving!", not that she had actually said it), there is no racist context here. It was used solely as a descriptive term, with no reason to assume that she was being racist; it would have been (had she actually said it) simply the most convenient way of separating out the driver.

If you really want to make the case that using a person's skin color to identify them is racist, then you eliminate any other way of identifying them as well. You can't use height, weight, eye color, etc., (as each one of those would show discrimination based on that descriptor), nor could you use clothing (some clothing is related to gangs, and so would also be discriminatory, and if it wasn't a gang, it would recognize a certain socio-economic grouping, so it's still discriminatory).

In short, you're attaching a context that not only doesn't exist, but makes no logical sense in the situation. Not only that, but you're attaching all of this context to something that wasn't even said.

How lame is your point when you attach imaginary context to an imaginary quote?

Re: Lindsay Lohan: "I wasn't driving. the BLACK kid was"

its funny seeing how your username and avatar is the picture and name of a stupid America stupid cunt.

Re: Lindsay Lohan: "I wasn't driving. the BLACK kid was"

If she was black and said that the black guy was driving, would it have been as problematic? Would it have been sexist? What if she was anything other than Caucasian?

Re: Lindsay Lohan: "I wasn't driving. the BLACK kid was"

I suppose it can be perceived as racist, but it's up to us to be rational and pragmatic people. If Lindsay had said, "The gay kid was driving!" would we consider that homophobic? I guess you could perceive it that way, but some people aren't smart enough to see that it most obviously wouldn't be. We can see that it's descriptive.

Oh all things, I doubt Lindsay Lohan is a raging racist. If Ann Coulter or Karl Rove spouted something like that, I'd have more reason to believe that the statement was racist. But Lindsay? Girl's just a dumb, cracked-out ho.

Re: Lindsay Lohan: "I wasn't driving. the BLACK kid was"

Perception. Not reality. Nothing to get all ruffled up about. I'm not calling the girl a racist one bit.
Yes, you are saying that she was being racist. To even bring up the idea that it was racist to identify a person by their skin color simply because the person doing so was of a different skin color is to point out that you believe that it was racist; otherwise, why bring up the point in the first place?

Either have the balls to say it straight out or don't say it in the first place.

Not bad for something that she didn't say in the first place...
