Lots of people in L.A. are getting very short jail sentences - there is a huge problem with overcrowding here. A client of mine brought charges against his employee, who had embezzled merchandise and sold it on eBay for $9,000. He was in jail for only two days and then released on his own recognizance, even though he is here illegally and had used forged papers to work for my client.

Oh boy. I can just picture Lindsay Lohan spouting out Tarantino's trademark pop-culture referencing, hip and with-it dialogue. Oy vey.
I like Lindsay Lohan, don't get me wrong. I think she's a good actress. I just think she really fucked herself over by getting into so much trouble so early in her career. Now she's a liability to the studios and she is more famous for being a drunk party girl rather than for the work she's done. Her last hit movie was in 2004 for crying out loud.
For now, I think she should get a new manager and a new agent and distance herself from the wild life she used to lead. I think she should stick to small independent films that can showcase her talent. A few ensemble films would do her good. She won't have to carry the films all by herself with the spotlight only on her. It worked well in 'A Prairie Home Companion,' and it should work again, if done right.
If and when she's somewhat made a name for herself once again, I think she could pull off bigger budget, more mainstream films in which she could star.
Also, I think she should forget the singing career and focus on acting.

Well she has crappy parents and a crappy agent who was putting her into tween flicks instead of serious movies. Give her some time and some space and she just might resurface. Lots of stars had wild pasts, Drew Barrymore comes to mind. They're just not as thoroughly documented.

Completely agree. At this point, no one's going to go see a film--even a good one--with her starring in it. She needs to play some supporting roles in some good films for now, get back in the public's good graces, then maybe a year or two down the line when the right role comes along, jump back into the game.

Completely agree. At this point, no one's going to go see a film--even a good one--with her starring in it. I'm happy for her. I think she's really trying to get herself together. She called into a radio station in Las Vegas and was talking about her new album. That was interesting. She said it has a urban pop feel.
