Little known facts

On September 1, 1983, the Lorain–Carnegie bridge was officially renamed the "Hope Memorial Bridge". The name honors William Henry "Harry" Hope, a local stonemason who helped build the Guardians of Traffic sculptures, and the father of comedian and former resident Bob Hope. The Cleveland Indians baseball team has been renamed the Cleveland Guardians in honor of the bridge just yards from the ball field.

A bee lives less than 40 days, visits at least 1,000 flowers, and produces less than a teaspoon of honey in its lifetime.

From January to October 1781 von Steuben served as a divisional commander under George Washington in Yorktown / Virginia, teaching modern war techniques.
The campaign resulted in a decisive Franco-American Viktory.
When the war ended, Baron von Steuben was granted U.S. citizenship and moved to New York with two of his aides William North and Benjamin Walker.
“We love him,” North wrote, “and he deserves it for he loves us tenderly.”

After the war, von Steuben legally adopted both men, a common practice among gay men in an age before same-sex marriage was legal.

This may be one of the most bizarre things that I have ever learned, and I stumbled into it on YouTube about four hours ago. I warn you this is pretty "math-geek'y" but it's still utterly weird, like WHY should there be such a relationship between these two distinctly-different things?

A bee lives less than 40 days, visits at least 1,000 flowers, and produces less than a teaspoon of honey in its lifetime.
That's still a LOT of honey! That is many times the weight of the bee...and in forty days? We don't even eat 1x(our weight) in food in 40 days. Honey is actually bee puke, right?

Ugh...they use camera enforcement in Finland? I thought it was just a USA thing. I hate the model, as I am still of the belief that a traffic ticket should only be given by an LEO (law enforcement officer). I know that I never received any speeding tickets in any foreign countries via camera, including in the modern countries of Canada and Australia and five European countries. The ones besides Canada were in 2015 or later, and my amount of driving added to about 4,500 miles. I also did about 880 miles of driving in Uruguay around that time, but I wouldn't expect cameras there.

The map misrepresents the relative size of the two. The contrast is not nearly as extreme as it looks, but it's still pretty extreme. This looks like a Mercator projection, which is extremely inaccurate - many people know about the "Greenland problem".

Even more insane would be a comparison of Mongolia and Singapore, or even Canada as the "big country" to compare.

Quantum theory would suggest that everything is simultaneously a potato and a non-potato at the same time, until you observe it.
That would be a Schrödinger`s Potato in a box...

But this is as simple as it is - all potatoes are what they are - the rest of everything in the universe isn`t.

Everything in the universe is either a potato or not a potato.

Everything in the universe is pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis or not pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis.

Therefore, a potato and pneumonoultramicrosctopcsilicovolcanoconiosis are THE SAME THING.
