One thing that is going on at the moment: until now, Trump has relied upon his henchmen like Roger Stone and Steve Bannon to do his dirty work. Now that the truth is coming out, the henchmen are in hiding and Trump is doing his own dirty work. That's a misstep.

The way this seems to be playing out is a malignant narcissist who can't accept his failure was willing to have his own VP and members of Congress killed to buy him time to continue to undo democracy. I don't think he was alone in this effort and it's going to be interesting to see whether the complicit co-conspirators like Kashyap Patel and Scott Glabe, who are now employees of Trump Media, are held liable, too.

Trump acting on "bad advice" is beyond credibility and rationality. Trump had more access to the truth than almost anyone else, and he was told the truth repeatedly. One of the lawyers on CNN explained "willful blindness" as a legal term where someone clearly is told and knows the truth but chooses to disregard it, and then pretends they are blind to it.

These hearing are incredible to watch. Is there another "John Dean" out there?

I don't disagree about Russia and Trump's expectations. But I tend to think that with Trump, it's not that thought out. Trump is such an egocentric, self-absorbed, narcissist who doesn't have the emotional maturity of a 5-year-old, that he cannot accept the plain truth that he lost. He's been throwing a juvenile tantrum about it for two and a half years, and bilking his stupid minions out of millions while doing it. Trump clearly knew he lost, and him pretending otherwise because his ego rejects reality, does not make him less culpable. That's Cheney's point.

Eventually, the hammer is going to fall (soon I hope), then Trump will have nowhere to hide and no one to prop up his ego for him. He will either collapse into a pile of mush in a mental institution, or the cognitive dissonance will so wreck his brain, that the stress of it will kill him in some way. What Trump is not capable of doing is summoning the courage and humility within himself to accept the facts, like every other adult, and telling the truth to the American people; and that will ultimately destroy him.

That's my prediction, and on this one, for the good of our country, I hope I am right - quickly.
