Lockdown at the US Capitol

I think all of them would have faced a firing squad if it were the early America. Too bad they're not facing that.

Am I awful for feeling like that? The day will buzz around in my head forever.

You mean when it was already the United States under the Constitution?

A couple of them might have gotten a firing squad. A lot of them would have been stripped of their citizenship and faced the question of what other country, if any, was going to take in convicted traitors.

Last week, the Orange Supremacist posted what he claimed was the Obama's home address on Un-Truth Social.

One of the "visitors" who was at the Capitol on Jan 6th was arrested near the Obama's home with guns and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.

Apparently, Taylor Taranto has been living in his van in DC recently and producing conspiracy videos. Taranto also entered an elementary school near the Maryland home of Rep. Jamie Raskin while livestreaming apparent threats to the Democratic congressman.

Needless to say, he has been arrested and charged.

Perspectives from someone who has escaped what she describes as "a cult":

How poorly informed and educated does someone have to be to buy into all of the Trump cult shit.

But I love that she has admitted that she has been 'awakened'.

The thing that seems to be the common theme in cults is that they bring in people who want to do good and think they are doing good.

After that, there is a reprogramming of their morality where they convince them that doing something bad is actually doing something good: like banning books to protect children, running a Ponzi scheme because it makes money for the church or participating in a riot to preserve democracy.

The spell is broken when they accept that they have been deceived. What was interesting in her case was that she seemed to continue to believe Trump until he said he was going to pardon everyone who had been charged with crimes around Jan 6th, after she pleaded guilty and served her time.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A former California police chief was convicted on Thursday of joining the riot at the U.S. Capitol with a hatchet in his backpack and plotting to stop Congress from certifying President Joe Biden's 2020 electoral victory...

One more down. This guy "defended" himself because no sane lawyer would let a client use a summation to convict himself.

There are way too many like him though, who thinks the way he did/does, who are in senior law enforcement.

Today in the Darwin chronicles...

Meet Juan Rodriguez.

Mr Rodriguez broke into an office in the Capitol. He had on a unique knit hat with a Batman logo on it. He was escorted out of the office that he broke into by the Capitol Police. Upon reaching the outside of the building, he discovered that he had left his phone in the office that he broke into because had plugged it in to charge.

He later admitted that he attended the Stop the Steal rally but denied that he had entered into the Capitol building.

His phone location and unique knit cap proved that he was lying.

He was charged this week.

Ah, yes. The guy in the police vest was a member of AntiFa... got it.

A 44-year-old Arkansas man who beat a police officer with a flagpole during the January 6 riot at the US Capitol was sentenced Monday to four years in prison.

Peter Stager pleaded guilty to “assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers using a deadly or dangerous weapon,” according to a release from the Department of Justice. ...

Stager previously told an FBI tipster that he thought he was attacking a member of the violent left-wing group Antifa, even though photos from the scene clearly show the officer wearing a police vest.

My new favorite accountability group:

Defending Democracy & the Rule of Law

Lawyers take an oath to stand as officers of the court, bound by a code of conduct and ethical requirements that do not apply to the public more broadly. They cannot uphold that duty while lying to the court or the public about the factual grounds for phony claims. The 65 Project will work to hold accountable the lawyers who raise fraudulent claims to overturn legitimate elections results, while also creating a rule-based system to prevent future attempts and to strengthen the mechanisms for accountability and deterrence.

They call themselves "The 65 Project" after the 65 bogus lawsuits that Trump and his Rogue's Gallery of Attorneys filed to attempt to overturn Trump's election loss.

Another mentally unstable Trumper bagged. He can do rallies in prison to boost morale.

A Donald Trump fan who participated in the Jan. 6 attack and then was the subject of a conspiracy theory on Tucker Carlson's former Fox News show was arrested by the FBI on Wednesday.

Rally Runner, formerly known as Daniel Donnelly Jr., was arrested in St. Louis, Missouri, according to court records. Runner faces five federal charges, including obstructing, impeding, and interfering with law enforcement officers during a civil disorder.

Kent Vanderwood, the mayor of Wyoming, MI, on Monday fielded calls to resign as the city held its first City Commission meeting since Vanderwood and 15 others were charged with multiple felonies in connection to an alleged fake elector scheme intended to re-elect former President Donald Trump...

Yet more tediousness. He's guilty. The level of puerile whining coming from 'Pubs who know damn well they were trying to stage a coup is nauseating.

Prosecutors are seeking 33 years in prison for Enrique Tarrio for his role in the January 6th insurrection. I guess that Trump should get the same?

This guy is on the run, disappearing the day before his sentencing.

Which is crazy...WTF is he not in custody already?

Defense has asked the judge to consider Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio's detention.. arguing the "isolation has impacted his mental health.. he has seemed very anxious during recent jail visits or telephone conversations" :rotflmao: :vomit::ROFLMAO::LOL:
