Because of the Supreme court, anything Toad does, legal or not, within the executive jurisdiction or not, contrary to the constitution or not, all he has to do is claim impediment to his duties and he can.

I'm not so sure that means they will always rubber stamp him, but I'm also not so sure they won't.
 
They gave him carte blanche. As their owner/masters directed them to.

And on January 6th this year he will celebrate with a smugness and arrogance that will be remembered in history as he anticipates the 20th when he can bring his jack boot down on all his enemies.
 
So today, we once again see how the Democrats value the smooth transition of presidential power.

No riots. No deaths. No insurrection.

I am not saying that I totally approve of this adherence to norms over preventing a man who never should have been able to run for the highest office in the land from degrading it for another 4(?) years...but the yahoo knuckle draggers sent in there on Jan 6th in 2021 might take a lesson?

My money is on the report never being released.

...today, Trump’s lawyers wrote to Attorney General Merrick Garland demanding he prevent the public release of the final report written by special counsel Jack Smith about Trump’s attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. They say it would disrupt the presidential transition by “giving rise to a media storm of false and unfair criticism” and interfere with presidential immunity by diverting Trump’s time and energy.

Having reviewed the two-volume report, the lawyers objected to its claim that Trump and others “engaged in an unprecedented criminal effort,” that Trump was “the head of the criminal conspiracies,” that he hatched a “criminal design,” and that he “violated multiple federal criminal laws.” They also took issue with the “baseless attacks on other anticipated members of President Trump’s incoming administration, which are an obvious effort to interfere with upcoming confirmation hearings.”

They conclude that releasing Smith’s report “would not ‘be in the public interest.’”

The new president has granted clemency to around 1,500 people convicted for their participation in the 2021 Capitol riot.

On the other hand, so many of these Jan 6th convicts will find themselves incarcerated or dead over the next decade, because the behaviour that took them to the Capitol will put them in harm's way.
