Re: WTF? Olympics spectator handcuffed and whisked away to London police station for not smiling

The Olympics are in town. It's WEIRD not to be smiling constantly.

I back the police here.

In the UK, we do not tolerate those devoid of personality - a telling trait is not smiling.

It's science, really.

you are incredibly stupid.

^ Thanks for the sense of humour update.

Re: Todays the Day! 2012 London Summer Olympics!

Pretty amazing.

NBC was pushing this last night but I didn't see.

Did he run -- how did he do?

NBC coverage sucks.

The Olympic flame reappeared briefly on Sunday and has disappeared since then.

I'm extremely disappointed that they don't have the medals ceremonies anymore.

Re: Todays the Day! 2012 London Summer Olympics!

NBC was pushing this last night but I didn't see.

Did he run -- how did he do?

He ran the anchor leg of the 4x400 relay. He didn't run in the qualifier (the second runner just before Oscar) fell when the Kenyan runner entered his lane. Oscar never got to run. The Olympic committee accepted South Africa's 'interference' objection and qualified them to run in the 9th lane.

Things didn't do well with no fault to Oscar. His teammates didn't do as well as they should have and passed the baton well-behind the rest. He ran well, though, but came last. Actually his team came 8th in a field of 9. Great Britain was disqualified due to an illegal baton exchange.

It was an historic run none-the-less.

Edit: The US came third after the Bahamas overtook them at the line, but won the silver after Great Britain was disqualified.

Re: Todays the Day! 2012 London Summer Olympics!

Apparently, the events were hitting Twitter before they hit the television screen.
as I said, I think in a different thread - if you don't like spoilers before you see the events, STAY OFF THE INTERNET! LOL. That may be easier said, than done.

I get your point...I prefer the delay myself.....I'd rather see the previously recorded events during NORMAL hours OUR time Vs trying to catch London time....
FULLY agreed...I forgot where you are, but the time difference is most extreme in the West. Much stuff is live while people here are at work. By the time evening comes in North America, the events in London are finished for the day. If somebody wanted to see the Olympics live in the evening in North America, that wouldn't leave much with everything already finished, would it?

But there's a difference. Canada broadcasts tape delay where multiple events are concerned, but they always preface it with an a 'recorded earlier announcement. Live events are still broadcast as they are happening. NBC apparently doesn't broadcast 'live' events live. It's all tape-delay.
Sure, multiple events are surely going on at the same time, always, during active Olympics time. Ten thousand athletes couldn't possibly all compete, and resolve their placement in Olympics history (medals or not), if there was only one event at a time.

GSDX, I didn't look, is it all tape delay even during the daytime? I can understand it at night when everything has already wrapped up on the "east side" of the Atlantic.

^^^

I just find it very strange -- it's like NBC thinks Americans can't handle adjusting their schedules or using DVR's to record what they would want to watch.
B-b-b-but Jack, isn't using a DVR exactly the same thing as NBC using a tape delay? haha

Adjusting schefules works only so far, of course, for those who have work, school, etc. obligations.

The DVR of course gives one ultimate flexibility just WHEN they can watch - but, like NBC, the DVR is watched only after something similar to a "tape delay" as determined by the viewer.

Thank you, Dudley Do-Right.

I wonder what I would have said?

Re: WTF? Olympics spectator handcuffed and whisked away to London police station for not smiling

I don't have to. You do it for me with all the ignorance you spout. If you had any concept of terrorism in England, if you had any concept of terrorism in the Olympic games, you couldn't be humiliating yourself with such crap.

Do me a favour. Google the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. That is one of the reasons there is so much security in the Olympic games, and it's doubly necessary in London because of decades of terrorist attacks.

And where in hell did you get the megalomania shit? You're the one who requires the attention, not me. You're the one who feeds on it and gets pissed off because you don't get it. So, what do you do when you can't win? Ad hominem.

I'll name 3:

Canadian police are sociopaths.
British police are clowns and England is totalitarian.

Your words. Not mine. And they're the only ones I remember without having to wade through your bullshit to find more examples.

Look to see me no more.
I'm putting you and your ego and your insults on ignore.

Have a nice day.

RE: "I don't have to."

Yet another example of your megalomania.

RE: "You do it for me with all the ignorance you spout"

Yet another example of your trolling...a random, unsubstantiated criticism that any 13-year-old troll could spout.

RE: "If you had any concept of terrorism in England, if you had any concept of terrorism in the Olympic games, you couldn't be humiliating yourself with such crap."

You're the only one who's humiliating himself. As you're constantly putting yourself on a pedestal as a know-it-all, yet you don't even know how trollish you're coming across when you openly harass someone. Pathetic.

RE: "Do me a favour. Google the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. That is one of the reasons there is so much security in the Olympic games, and it's doubly necessary in London because of decades of terrorist attacks."

You just don't get it, so do me a favor. Scroll up to my post #10 and tell me what part of those 7 steps you're unable to comprehend. The "decades of terrorist attacks" is precisely why the cops should have screened that "potential threat" in 20 seconds, rather than taking valuable law enforcement resources away from the event in order to satisfy some clown's ridiculous thirst for power.

RE: "And where in hell did you get the megalomania shit? You're the one who requires the attention, not me. You're the one who feeds on it and gets pissed off because you don't get it."

 Yet another glaring example of you being the "ignorant" one, who doesn't know what he's talking about. Megalomania is defined as a psychological state characterized by delusions of grandeur.

RE: "Canadian police are sociopaths."

This is the best proof yet that you're trolling me, as that's the third time you've made that false allegation. The most recent of which was in this thread, in your post #11. And in my post #12, I posted the following quote from my first response to it in the other thread:

"Huh? Canadian police? I never "insinuated" that. So now you're putting words in my mouth? I used the term "Canadian officials," and I did so for a reason. Which is the fact that politicians are at the top of the food chain in Canada, and they control everything. And it's been my experience that most politicians are sociopaths."

Yet instead of responding to it, you totally ignored it, and tried to take the focus off your lies by attempting to make me out to be a liar, by saying: "You take singular incidents, make up a shitload of lies"

In other words, when you get caught in a lie, you simply ignore it and accuse me of lying about something. And then to top it off, you rehash the exact same lie AGAIN, in the same thread! Only a megalomaniac troll could delude himself into thinking that readers wouldn't see through such absurd bullshit.

As well, for someone who has supposedly told a "shitload of lies," don't you think it's even mildly "suspicious" that you're unable to cite a single one? Only a megalomaniac could delude himself into thinking he can throw libelous accusations around like that without a shred of substantiation, and people will just take his word for it.

RE: "British police are clowns"

Yet more proof that you're trolling me, as that's the second time you've made that false allegation. The first time of which was in this thread, in your post #11. And in my post #12, I posted the following response:

"In your haste to jump at any chance to pick apart what I say and find some way to post misleading, deceptive criticisms of it, you left out the part where I didn't mention anything about "British police" being clowns...I only specified the head of the London police. The intended meaning of which is further evidenced by the following statement I made, "Butt instead, highly trained cops were required to waste their time hauling him to a police station." Note the emphasis on the word "required"...as that clearly implies they weren't responsible for the clownish decision to haul the non-smiler to the police station."

And this is exactly what trolls do who were ripped off by poor quality troll schools...they totally ignore the response they get and rehash the same lies over and over.

RE: "And they're the only ones I remember without having to wade through your bullshit to find more examples."

Being the incompetent and ineffectual bullshit artist that you are, you're only capable of rehashing the same unimaginative lies over and over.

RE: "Look to see me no more."

I'll believe that when I "see" it, no pun intended.

RE: "I'm putting you and your ego and your insults on ignore."

Translation: You finally recognized that your harassment campaign against me backfired, in that it revealed the true nature of your character...a bullying troll. And the saddest part is that your colossal ego made it impossible for you to quit while you still had a chance to save face.

Re: Todays the Day! 2012 London Summer Olympics!

I saw Greg Louganis in the stands. His hair's turned white!

Re: Todays the Day! 2012 London Summer Olympics!

I've been watching the Divers over the last few Days and their Asses get a 5 on the Butt-scale...None of their Butts get ANY Gold or Silver Medals.....Most of them just have very strong Thighs & legs...

The Olympians in Track & Field got Ass, Thighs & Legs for days...Gold Medal Butts all around..The Bahamas Track & Field Stars deff get individual Gold-medals for Best-Beefiest-Bubbles-on-display @ The London Games...

Re: Todays the Day! 2012 London Summer Olympics!

Daley is very young he'll compete again I'm sure. Boudia surprised everyone himself included I think. He was the underdog. They all did an amazing job.

Re: Todays the Day! 2012 London Summer Olympics!

you know something funny. i was reading something somewhere just now when i googled that david guy on some blog saying that there's rumors that him and some other guy on another countries swimming team as well as another american swimmer were having a love triangle going on. either wishful thinking or maybe he was one of the guys the olympic guys that invaded grindr making it crush . but yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if there were a shitload of gay olympians on there.

Re: Todays the Day! 2012 London Summer Olympics!

Diving Champion David Boudia did the USA PROUD by claiming Gold after it's been out of our reach since the Freaking 80's....It took nearly 25yrs to recapture that Gold and we're so proud of David....What a weight to have on his shoulders and what a Talent and Legend he will become...

The American Women Track Stars were on FIRE @ this years Olympics. Winning Individual & Relay Gold on top of Gold... They set a world record in the Relays on Thursday and they won their 4th consecutive Relay event at The Olympics..Undefeated..Gotta Love the intensity and drive of Track Star Deedee Trotter and Love the Passion of the World Fastest Woman ,Ms. Sanya Richards-Ross....

The American Men couldn't take down the Jamaican Men & the Worlds Fastest Man the Legendary Mr.. Usain Bolt. Jamaica has got to be going out of its mind with excitement... The USA is still so proud of of our American Track Stars for improving 100% during their Relay event. I could tell GOLD was on their mind and during the FINAL Men's Relay event they ran FASTER than the first 3 Jamaican Stars but The Legendary Bolt is just a Man that runs on the Air...That Relay made History by lasting about 37-seconds..If you blinked you missed the whole thang....What a show they gave us....Truly Olympian Gods...

America is so PROUD of Jordan Burroughs for winning his first Olympic Gold Medal in Wrestling..I watched in suspense and Man did he have to fight off Russia and the other Countries...In the end he was Victorious...

The Decathlon's Ashton Eaton became one of America's Greatest Treasures when he garnered the most points at all the Track & Field events solidifying his Title as The Greatest Athlete in the World...Ashton is the King of kings...

And as for Men's Soccer....LOL...Man oh man.....I have to bow down to Mexico for producing a Group of Dedicated and Brilliant players that showed up to the London Games READY to throw-down on the soccer-field...They played like Warriors on a freaking mission.....Those Guys took no prisoners but they will take home the Gold...Mexico put on a show and not ONLY do they win the Gold for being the Best Soccer team in the World but they win The Men's All-Around Booty Gold for having the best beefy Butts that jiggle @ the Olympics...

The USA Men's Basketball team should take home the Gold this morning but they were disqualified for The Men's All-Around Booty Gold because their shorts are too loose...They won Booty Gold during the 80's when they wore Daisy Dukes on the court. Since then Olympic Booty Gold has been out of their reach and forever up-for-grabs to Track & Field,Soccer players, Swimmers, Wrestlers, Volley ballers, Tennis players, Body-Builders and Gymnasts...
