28 years and counting. there have been ups and downs, but we never quit on one another.

Exactly! "My" Kev, and I, are into our 27th yr. of "coping". (group)

Chaz ;)

Well, Tommy and I have been together for about a year and a half...

IRL, less than a year.

31 years and counting! I was fortunate to meet my true love when I was very young--I was 23 years old and he was just barely 21. We celebrated our 30th anniversary in 2007 by finally having a wedding. It was great and I don't know why we waited so long. Then six month's later gay marriage became legal in CA, so we did that, too. Hopefully our marriage will still be legal after the CA Supreme Court makes its' ruling.

Longest you've been in a committed relationship.

I was in one for almost 13yrs once. It began when I was in my early 20s.

We celebrate our 13th anniversary this friday - April 10. Ours is May/December-interracial relaitonship. Me - 64 and white; Him - 41 and Chinese. Still going strong with no end in sight.:D

Let's see...

I was with Tim for three years until one day he decided he wanted to have kids with a woman and start a family.

Keith was the more serious one. Almost five years. We bought a house together and everything. Ahh well.... :(

Three years...some of the best of my life. I miss him.

Longest was a little over a year...Which in reality, was much longer than it should have actually lasted.

Thanks for asking the question. It's fascinating (and personally reassuring) that nearly one-third of respondents have never had a relationship. It makes me feel like less of a freak. I've never had one either.

It's obviously not a scientific poll, but people with long relationships are decidedly in the minority. I doubt that's the case in the heterosexual world.

I think finding "true love," or something that resembles it, is very rare. Most straight people make compromises to have children. If you're not interested in having children, you have less (little) reason to compromise.

For me, until I find a guy that I really want to be with, I'd rather be alone.
