LOST - parts that make you cry. *

Last week I suggested that Jack may be Jacob. Of course, the opening scene in the finale showed that I was dead wrong.

Or was I? Jacob's mystery "nemesis" found a loophole by becoming Locke and went through alot of trouble to kill him. But maybe Jacob went through just as much trouble to prevent it. Maybe Jacob became Jack so that he could detonate the bomb to prevent himself from getting killed in the future. Maybe Jack was Jacob's loophole. When Jacob was touching some of the younger Losties in their past, that was him creating the loophole, taking out an insurance policy on himself. Anyone he touched made it possible for him to become any one of them in a different time.

Or I am probably way off and wrong again. Eight more months:cry:

^lol---I think you are reaching a bit...;)
No doubt. But then again, considering where this story has gone, is it really any more a reach than everything else? All the other crazy stuff we can believe in? We can believe that Locke is not really Locke, but we can't believe that Jack is not really Jack?

After this finale, I was somehow reminded of an episode from season three where Jack get's a tattoo from a special woman in Thailand (A Stranger in a Strange Land). The tattoo means "He walks among us, yet is not one of us." She told him she has a special gift of seeing people who they really are, and tells him he is "a leader, a great man." I always thought this was an extra strange episode; in season 3 it didn't seem to fit with anything. But now, it kind of makes more sense.

Maybe Jack doesn't realize that he is (or was) someone else. Also remember the "reincarnation" anagram on a van earlier this season.Anyway, come next year I'm sure this theory will quickly be crushed. But it doesn't hurt to have fun speculating.

^In fact, Matthew Fox's Chinese tattoo has nothing to do with "He walks among us, yet is not one of us", maybe it was just something the writers did to fool non-Chinese speaking fans. Besides, we've seen to many useless flashbacks in the first 1 or 2 seasons. The don't have to relate to the present story.

Here's my assumption:

The Bomb: According to "Entertainment Weekly", Elizabeth Mitchell is already in a contract of another TV show, so I guess that Juliet succeeds in triggering the bomb and dies. Nevertheless, everything's gong back to normal is the least likely to be what will happen afterward. The explosion may make the island "move" again, and bring everybody else together.

John Locke: If John's already dead, then the present John could be from the past, however, he knows too much to be from the past, so he's not John. We can always see dead characters recurring on the show. At first, I thought they're just the other characters' illusion, but I now I think they may be something physical and they may be just one person who has the ability to become someone else after their death. At the beginning of the season finale, Jacob was talking to another guy under the statue, the other guy told Jacob he would find a way to kill him--That other guy could be the false John Locke.

The Statue: At the beginning of the finale, the statue was perfectly there, and Jacob was watching a ship coming near the island--That ship looks like the Black Rock to me (I could be mistaken). If so, then the Jacob and the Statue could be really old. As I can remember, we didn't see any part of the statue in the 1970s part of the season, but according to Sun and Ben's short conversation towards the end of the finale, the statue might still be complete in 1970s.

In reality yes. But in sticking with the Lost story, that is in fact what the tattoo says, but not necessarily "what it means" as the Isabelle (an other) character told him in that episode.

Elizabeth Mitchells role in 'V' is just a guest starring role.

And I thought that was pretty obvious... Was it not obvious that the John Locke walking around the island was another form of Jacob's enemy?

At the beginning of the episode the loophole was mentioned and then at the end when 'John Locke' walks into Jacob's house, Jacob says: I see you found your loophole. I thought that was spelled out clearly enough... :S

And Apologies To scains - But If Juliet Survives An Atomic Blast - (other than in a different time dimension), The Whole Show Becomes A Joke. The Girl's Dead Dead Dead. With The Bomb Going Off However It Gives The Producers A Ton Of Options Regarding Who They Will Or Won't Bring Back For The Final Season. Anyone Needing To Negotiate Their Contract For The Final Season May Well Find Themselves Going Up With The Bomb.

But if Juliet is killed by the atomic blast then so are Jack, Kate and Sawyer. And it's already been stated that Kate will be back for the final season.

I'm not ruling out the fact that she's dead - I mean, the odds are against it. But there is always a possibility that she's not. And I'm allowed to hope :D

There would be TWO Suns---one in 2004, with 2004 memories (since she was not with the 1977 group), and one in the present, on the Island. It would probably be too complex to do this, so I do not think they will. But it would be neat to see a 2007 Jin (knowing English, with the knowledge of what happened) sitting next to a 2004 Sun (who does know English but hasn't told him yet, who is also keeping a "secret" about her affair, ....etc....). It would be neat to see the Losties come together again, some "knowing" while others do not.

Can you imagine Juliet.....sitting in the Book Club group, suddenly screaming out, looking around her in shock, and running outside to watch a plane fly over, and past, the Island.......knowing James is on board. She falls to her knees and start crying. Poor Juliet.....

(you know.....they really should have hired ME as a writer, ya think? ;))

That would actually be pretty cool.

Has anyone else heard that season 6 is going to be a lot like season 1?

By that I mean it has been stated that we are going back into character driven episodes. What a way to end it :D

I think that Jacob's enemy and smokey are one and the same as well.

I'm curious to figure out what Jacob's superpower is...

Well yeah I said that right after i saw the EP its pretty clear samuel = Smokey

I dont want S6 to look like S1 tho... they made a point to have different stories each season I want shtg new and I want BADLY the black rock's story !!!

Isn't the Black Rock story done?

I mean, it's a slave ship which Jacob drew to the island to see how they would co-exist on the island.

Or do you want to see how it got to the middle of the jungle and how they co-existed? If it's the latter then you're looking for a spinoff series ;)

But if the evil dude (Is his actual name Samuel?) is Smokey and the others inhabit the temple... then whose side are they on? Jacob's or Samuel's. I'm only asking because Smokey protects the temple and lives underneath it.

Well I want to know how the BR arrived in the middle of the jungle of course !!! what the hell ??!!!

LOL

(I think its samuel considering the fact they cast this character indicating his name was samuel lol but i could be wrong ;))

By the way we never actually saw the others inhabiting the temple or above it !!!

And the temple seemed to lead underneath dharmaville...

My guess, this temple is Huge and underground so It could be possible that its the entire island ... (remember we only saw the first wall (I think ?))

I love Juliet, too, and will be very disappointed if she is, in fact, no longer on the show next season. Of course, if they re-surrect Boone, all will be forgiven;).

Hopping into this discussion rather late... but to the premise of the thread... the saddest moment in all of Lost for me hands down was the Juliet being dragged by chains into the hole. Both Elizabeth Mitchell's and Josh Holloway's acting on that scene, it was extremely heartwrenching, even for someone who isn't usually moved by emotional scenes such as this. I was literally stunned for a good 10 minutes after that scene. It was soulshattering...

Over the course of the series, I always saw the good in Juliet's character and never doubted her nature even when the writers were playing her off as a double agent. I will be very sad if she's off the show. I know the writers have said they want season 6 to go back to its season 1 roots... that could mean no Juliet and they can put the focus all back on the Oceanic people + Ben + AntiJacob.... I honestly don't know where season 6 will go... but I can straight up say I won't enjoy it as much as season 5 unless Juliet is in it.

Exactly how I feel.

I don't see them having been able to change anything though.
They won't be bringing the original cast members back into it since a few of them left the show with rather large chips on their shoulders.

So the way I see it, whatever happened, happened and they have all been flashed to 2007. Juliet included.

I just watched the episode again and I just can't get over how spectacular that final scene is!

I'm sorry, but Juliet is a hero, she let go of Sawyer's hand so that he wouldn't fall down there with her, and then she fought through the pain - I think something was crushing her legs - to do what they all wanted and change the past.

It was the best death in LOST, and that's saying something considering how grieved I was to see Charlie go and how adamant I am that Juliet is not dead.

5:02 a.m.: Good morning, TV fans! We're about to get started on all the ABC headlines. To begin, an ABC rep reveals: "Elizabeth Mitchell will not be a regular on Lost next season...but she will be able to appear [on that show]." You guys can do the math on what that means for Juliet.

5:38 a.m.: Someone asks McPherson more about Elizabeth Mitchell, and he says, "She's a fantastic actress and we're thrilled to be able to have her do both [Lost and V]...You'll see her on Lost, but V is her next piece."

I'm gutted.
Although I might actually have to watch this 'V'

Great another TV show to get addicted to. Just what I need...

Yeah what is that V ???

Anyway.. meaning she's dead !!

It's something about Aliens (I think) but at least Liz is the female lead in this one.

But yes, I take that to mean Juliet is dead... but will appear in LOST for some 'ghost' scenes. I assume.

OK, so back on topic.

The biggest tear jerker on any TV show - for me. Is this one.

And Elizabeth Mitchell is in Season 6 for an unspecified number of episodes. That means she could still be alive.
