LOST - parts that make you cry. *

And people say we aren't getting any answers!
Now if we could only get some answers about:

The Polar Bears
The Lottery Numbers
Smoke Monster
Why Locke repeatedly has lost and regained the ability to walk.
Why babies conceived on the island die.
Why Walt is special.
Why Aaron is special.
The island's healing powers.
What the others wanted with Walt, or with all the children.
The Dharma initiative.
The Dharma stations.
The quarantine
The purpose of the Others
The purpose of the other Others (Widmore's people)
Why the others forced prisoners to break and move large rocks.
The four-toed statue
Who dropped the supplies and food for the Survivors
Claire's "disappearance"
The cabin
Why Ben was working at the airport in Australia.
Richard's test for young Locke
Where the island is(was) geographically.
The Black Rock
How Locke's dad got on the island
Jacob
Eloise
Rousseau
Desmond
Penelope
Mr. Abbadon
Jack's father Christian Shepard
Every other main character that is not one of the original survivors.
The reappearing dead characters.
The polar tracking station.
How the island moves
The wheel
The other island
The point with all the time traveling
Why the survivors survived
Why the survivors hardly question any of the bizarre things that happen
Why I continue to additively watch this show.

Just to name a few. This hardly scratches the surface of unanswered questions. Really, with next season being the last season, I'm starting to realize that there is no way all of the questions will be answered. There is bound to me some major disappointment when the show ends. The writers and producers are just probably fucking with us with most of these.

Qixote, some of those questions you bring up have been answered for the most part, they just run back to the bigger questions.
Which in turn means they aren't really answers at all. And some of the "answers" you said are more like your answers and not necessarily the answers. I've watched this show religiously since the first season, and the answers as you stated were not in the show. They might have been discussed more in the numerous online material, which I do not follow.

For instance, your answer to the other island just reiterates what the show has told or showed me, but says nothing about what the show has not told me. The main island once could be seen a short distance from the other island. But the other island could not be seen from the main island. A few of the Losties have been all around the main island. And nothing of the smaller island was ever seen from the helicopter. It would have to be a very tiny island not to be seen. Tinier than the show made it look when they were on it. Obviously, there is a bigger mystery going on there than we've been told, or its just incongruent storytelling with holes. And I don't think Hydra is where the others lived, I think it was only where they did some of the experiments. We've seen where the others lived, and several of the Losties traveled to and from there on foot, not by boat, submarine, or swimming.

Yes, the polar bears were used in experiments. That was obvious. But WHY did Dharma want to see if they could survive in different climates? For that matter, WHY did Dharma do any of these "experiments" in the various stations? Yes I know the stations were used for experiments, again, you tell me what the show already has.

Answering a question with a question is not an answer at all. I'm just saying, I hope the show does not end in such fashion; alot of fans will be pissed. Just like X-Files all over again.

The shows producers have said we will be happy with the way the show ends so I don't think it will be like x-files, though I didn't watch that so... Maybe we won't manage to get all of the answers - but will definitely get most of the important ones. And if you watch the "LOST: Missing Pieces" I'm sure they will answer some of your questions.

I feel you should give the writer's a chance - now that the island is moving about in time, a lot of the islands history is going to be revealed along with some answers. Maybe Rousseau's arrival on the island, and how Alex was taken from her?

And we won't be finding out about Claire until next season. I don't think.

I actually think it will be a case of: You don't know anything until you know everything.

So until the huge questions are answered all the little ones remain unanswered and this is why all of the smaller questions lead to more questions.

I feel you should give the writer's a chance
I've already said I watched the show religiously since the first season, and that I am still addicted to it. Give them a chance? I never said anything about not liking the show or it sucking. On the contrary, it's a very good show. I just fear that the end may not be the payoff we've all been hoping for.

And it's not all the writer's calling most of the shots for this show, it's the producers, who also do some of the writing. For everything else they give direction to the writers.

according to the barracks orientation video the purpose of the dharma initiative's experiments were to study the unique properties of the island, which they believed in turn would resolve to world piece.

We're supposed to believe those Dharma orientation films? Throughout the show we have seen evidence of contradictions to what films said. The show has been hinting that they are not to believed. For example, the Pearl, where teams of people would note observations and send them off to other stations via pneumatic tubes. But as discovered later, those tubes went nowhere. (I'm hoping this show is not turning into a Pearl) Doctor Marvin Candle is just another character that raises more questions than credible answers.

Thanks for reading everything else I said.

How about this: Have faith in the writer's/producer's. I'm sure it will all be satisfactory and if we keep to this mind set we will most likely enjoy the rest of the episodes more.

I realise that the writer's are not making the plot - J.J.Abrams and Damon Lindelof are responsible for that, but since they help write the season premieres and finales I think they can fit into the writer's category since they have different writer's for different episodes.

In the video to The Pearl Dharma station it said that The Swan was a psychological project, when in fact it was revealed that The Pearl was the psychological project since the notes the were taking down went to a pile in the middle of the jungle.

The show told us that The Swan was real when Locke stopped pushing the button and Desmond was forced to use the failsafe key.
So I would say that The Pearl was used to make Locke question his faith in the island so his bond would be stronger later on.

I do not know where its leadin us... but with that season I want to watch it all over again (since S1) ahahah

Some say the show will end up with the frist scene... i wonder how if its ever gonna be possible ... i doubt so

I started watching all of mine before Season 5 started so I was all caught up lol! Gonna do it again though, I think.
But, get this, the episodes for LOST on iTunes have increased! Have any others gone up?

I doubt that it will end on the first scene, I have no idea how it will end. And frankly, I'm happy about that, If I knew what was going to happen there wouldn't be a point in watching it. Well there would, because it's so goddamn entertaining!

LOST S1 Opening Credits

I had to post it..
and it increased on itunes coz its HD I guess

WE all know that the O6 will have to come back to the island and never leave........remember the scene from first season when Jack and Kate found the skeletons in the cave....OF jack and Kate......and Jack took the black and white stones from.....Jack.

I checked on YouTube and can no longer find the scene-----but I seem to remember Jack getting a look on his face as if recognizing something and getting upset by it. He recognized who the bodies were.....

That was cool!

I don't think it's HD, it doesn't look any different to the season 4 episodes and it didn't state that it was in HD?

I'm going to watch that episode tomorrow and have a look see if I can see anything on his face when he sees them - I don't remember it.

Doesn't mean it was Jack and Kate at any rate. It could be any of the couples on the island. Jack just might have recognised some of their possessions. But I suppose we won't find out till we see a character with black and white stones in their pocket eh?

I stand corrected; I just checked and it is in HD. I downloaded them at a cheaper price though, so did I get mine in HD and they just hadn't changed the prices yet? I just thought it was some random price raise. Mind you, I'd rather have the option of not having it in HD.

Edit: It is available in standard definition also, just seen it. That's how I got my episodes... crisis over! ;)

Yeah about the ep... i think if u buy the HD version u also ave standard def included ....

Anyway bout the stones and everything
i m not sure it's jack & kate... but who knows ???!!!

I was just thinkin how the show would look like without jack. I m not a huge fan of the character but still he's important for the show
I know they wanted to kill him off in the 1st season makin Kate the leader
that would have been weird
even tho kate's one of my fav character

by the way who r ur fav characters ???
I'd go with
- Kate
- Sawyer
- Juliet
- Sayid
- Sun
- Ben

It would be weird without Jack, but then, if it had happened it wouldn't be weird because we would have just accepted it.

Favourite characters:
- Juliet (my fav since season 3 started)
- Charlie (even though he's dead I'll never forget him)
- Claire (I've always had a thing for Claire)
- Ben (Became a really amazing addition)
- Daniel (Who is quickly becoming one of the most interesting characters)
- Sun (Just an amazing character)
- Kate (but only because the actress is so real that she makes Kate look great)
- And Hurley (For the humour)
- Sawyer (Didn't used to like him, but he grew on me; especially after he rescued Claire at the barracks)
- Ana Lucia (I know she wasn't a big hit with the fans, but I think she brought a strength to season 2 which helped to make our camp not look like a bunch of wimps)
- Jin (It's a shame he didn't have more scenes before he "died")

I know I've listed, like, all the characters but I like nearly every character it's just a case of liking some more than others. Even so, I thought they all deserved a mention. There are obviously some characters that aren't there because I don't like them. :D

ahah that was funny scains!

yeah I agree that every character is interesting in its own way...
the writers did a great job on that one

coz honestly there is absolutetly NO character I despise, hate, or cant stand....
they all have shtg special

its not the case with every show tho

No definitely not the case with every show...

There aren't any characters I despised either, (well there was Michael at the end of season 2) There's just some I like less like Sayid and Desmond. To me they don't have many redeeming qualities - they're quite selfish, well Sayid isn't but because everyone thinks he's always right and I know he isn't it makes me dislike him. And he can always fix things... he's like a computer version of Jack.

I find it funny that we left Jack out of both our lists! It wasn't even intentional in my case, I just completely forgot about him - he wouldn't have made it even if I remembered him anyway. :D

Locke has been my favorite character for a while... he's a very well-rounded, complicated character who sometimes fucks up and is clearly doing something stupid, but he does it with such conviction. he's also pretty bad ass with a knife.

i like Jack too though, i always liked him and season 3, while he was locked in the glass room, he was pretty bad ass.

Sayid is always a bad ass and one of my favorites.

Miles is a new favorite.

i fucking love Hurley.

Sun or Juliet are probably my favorite female characters.

i love the Rose & Bernard thing.

i liked Tom a lot.
