LOST - parts that make you cry. *

This Is Amazing. They Must Have Made This Vid As A Promo Because It Doesn't Look Like Anything I Remember Seeing On The Show.

That was the UK promo.
We got it on Channel 4, it showed on the build up to the season 1 premiere.

And I think Juliet has died, but so has everyone who was on the island. It was a fucking nuke (or close to one), so anyone who was near it is obliterated.
My theory is they did change time, and they changed it so much that Juliet never goes to the island and lives a happy life with her sister who is cured and has children.
Juliet is my favourite character on the show and she bloody deserves a happy ending.

And is anyone else worried how they're going to cram so many answers into one series? Whenever I think about it, the only way I can see it working is when I imagine Jack in this big white room, strapped into a white chair while some random guy just tells Jack everything.
"Who were those skeletons in the caves?"

"They were the remains of Bernard and Rose who remained unnaffected by the explosion and lived the rest of their lives here on the island."

"Ok, then what about the whispers?"

"The whispers? The Island has the ability to concentrate paranormal activity, the whispers are spirits of people who have died"

"Really? Why can the Island do that?"

"I don't know it just can, stop asking questions."

That's the only way they'll be able to do it I swear.

It was announced at one time that the whole last season was going to be Jack on trial for committing perjury at Kate's trial. I take that to mean -- lotsa flashbacks.

But it would be too boring to just recap all the stuff we've already seen. So I'm guessing that somehow Jughead changed everything, and we'll see how all of their lives end up different. Presumably with guest shots from the people who've already left the show.

And then maybe at the end some of them will go back to the island anyway. Probably at the end we'll find out Jack didn't commit perjury after all.

Also they need to clear up all the stuff about Jacob etc.

And in one of the podcasts they said that after the last season opener, you'll have all the info you need to piece the whole story together. That should be interesting.

Yeah, but I thought the whole point of showing us Jacob's abilities in the last episode of S5 was to show that he could still bring them to the island maybe?

Although I do think we'll see how their lives would've turned out had they made it to LA X.

I can't tell if that's good or bad.

Yeah, but I thought the whole point of showing us Jacob's abilities in the last episode of S5 was to show that he could still bring them to the island maybe?
That's a good point. And I'm pretty sure that some of them will go back -- but maybe not all.

I don't know, everybody has such expectations for this show. I mean people obsess over every little detail. I can pretty much guarantee that there are going to be questions that don't get resolved, in fact they already said so on one of the podcasts. Can't remember the example they gave though.

When I was re-watching the first 2 seasons recently, I actually was very aware of how many of the things that happened were for reasons that had nothing to do with the story.

Like Mr. Eko leaving the show because he had a horrible family tragedy -- Walt leaving because he hit puberty too fast, and what that did to Michael's character -- Ana Lucia and Libby were only signed for one season so they could be bumped off -- etc.

Libby is the one I especially regret because they left a lot of unanswered questions about her character, that could have led to some really cool stuff. Like did she get flirty with Hurley because she was the only one who knew he was rich? It sounded like they were going that way, but then it ended abruptly.

And the stuff that got lost because of the writers' strike, all the backstory of the freighter crew...

LOL!!

I got an email from amazon the other day telling me that LOST - season 5 was now available for pre-order.

I just went on amazon two seconds ago and LOST is number 1 on the bestsellers. Awesome!

Just a couple of articles...

Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse have defended their decision to kill off Juliet Burke on Lost.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the show's producers described writing the character out as "really painful".

"As the story is now nearing its conclusion, some characters just aren't going make it all the way to the end," Cuse said. "Even beloved characters aren't going make it all the way to the end.

"And sometimes we have to do things that are really painful, like killing Juliet, because that’s what makes the story feel like the stakes are genuine, and people feel invested that characters who are beloved can actually perish on our show.

"It was an enormously powerful story that concluded the entire season of the show. So she was sacrificed in service of the story, and I think was hugely responsible for the season being viewed as successful because that was how it ended."

The pair then went on to praise Elizabeth Mitchell, with Lindelof declaring that "we just love working with Elizabeth".

Cuse added: "[Juliet] will always loom as one of our favorite characters, and even more importantly, favorite people that we've ever worked with on this show."

Lost returns for its sixth and final season in January.

Damon Lindelof has said that the character of Juliet is responsible for the Lost finale.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Lindelof, who executive produces the show alongside Carlton Cuse, claimed that Elizabeth Mitchell's character "birthed season six".

"She is completely responsible for the end game of the show," he revealed. "So the character is going to be seen in a slightly different light this year. We gave her that action for a reason, and that's because she's so important to the fabric of the story."

Cuse added of Juliet's demise in the season five finale: "Damon and I came to a place where we came up with a fantastic 'ending' [for Juliet]. And ending is in quotations, of course, because just because a character's died doesn't mean that their story's over on Lost."

Earlier this year, Mitchell confirmed that she would be returning to the show to film "more than one" episode of the final season.

Woohoo!!! My favourite character is also revered by the producers!

The executive producers of Lost have admitted that there are some episodes that they wish they'd never written.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Damon Lindelof described past episodes of the show as "s**tty".

"Look, it would be nice to look back and say, 'We love every episode of Lost and every episode turned out the way we wanted it to'. There are s**tty episodes of Lost that we wish we had never written.

"But had we not written them we would be in a different situation now, because we ran out of ideas, we stalled, then the network realised what we had been saying from early on - that Lost needed an end date.

"And now here we are six years later on broadcast with a show that is - not what it once was [in the ratings] - but still performing, and we're ending it on our own terms because we had shitty episodes."

Lost returns for its final season Tuesday, February 2 on ABC.

Although it would be wise to notice that the "There are s**tty episodes of Lost that we wish we had never written" is not in inverted commas so I wouldn't take it as gospel.

Carlton Cuse has revealed that the final season of Lost uses a new narrative device.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the show's executive producer also said that season six will be tonally similar to 2004's first season.

"We feel tonally it's most similar to the first season of the show," he said. "We're employing a different narrative device, which we feel is creating some emotional and heartfelt stories, and we want the audience to have a chance in the final season to remember the entire history of the show.

"So we have actors coming back like Dominic [Monaghan] and Ian [Sommerhalder]. We're hoping to achieve a circularity of the entire journey so the ending is reminiscent of the beginning."

Over its five-season run, Lost has used a number of different story-telling techniques including flashbacks, flashforwards, and real-time elements.

Lost returns for its sixth and final season Tuesday, February 2 on ABC.

Rather interesting, huh?

The executive producers of Lost have hinted that season six may not mark the end of the franchise.

Damon Lindelof told The Hollywood Reporter that while the "definitive edition" ends in May, he believes that a sequel could happen at some point in the future.

"The definitive edition of Lost ends this May on ABC, and that is the story that we have to tell," he said. "It has a beginning, middle and end.

"That ending will not have cliffhangers, or be set up in such a way that people will be saying, 'Clearly they're going to make more of these'. We don't have any connection to another TV series or movie, but there's a new A-Team movie coming out, for God's sake."

Carlton Cuse added: "The Walt Disney Co. owns Lost. It's a franchise that's conservatively worth billions of dollars. It's hard to imagine Lost will rest on the shelves and nothing will ever be made with Lost.

"Eventually somebody will make something under the moniker of Lost - whether we do it or not. We just made a commitment to this group of characters whose stories are coming to a conclusion this May."

Lost returns for its sixth and final season Tuesday, February 2 on ABC.

I know that this has been hinted at for a while, but it would be interesting to see if a sequel is made. And now I really cannot wait to see what happens to the island.

The season six premiere of Lost may be pushed back after a potential clash with President Obama's State of the Union address.

The White House is said to be considering either Tuesday, January 26 or Tuesday, February 2 - the night of ABC's two-hour premiere - for the speech.

If the second date is selected, ABC may be forced to delay Lost until February 9.

The White House has refused to comment on the scheduling matter.

AAAAAAGGGGHHHHHH!!!!

Obama's gonna lose a lot of support! lol

hahahaha

Thanks for the heads up Sam

hahahaha

Thanks for the heads up Sam

:D

You're welcome!

I WILL FLIP A SHIT!

Why a Tuesday. Do presidents always do a speech on Tuesdays.

And if it is one of the two, he needs to do it on January 26, who gives a fuck about American Idol!

Will it affect the UK air date as well?

I think he'll do it on January 26. LOST air date has been set for ages, who does the president think he is!?

Lost fans have launched a Twitter campaign to try to stop President Barack Obama's State of the Union address delaying the show's season six premiere.

Earlier today, it emerged that the much-anticipated launch may be pushed back after the White House announced that Obama may choose to make his speech the same evening.

Under the hashtag '#NoStateofUnionFeb2', one fan wrote: "Hey Obama, don't mess with the Lost season 6 premiere *shakes fist violently* Go screw Idol over".

Another tweeted: "Barack Obama has clearly never seen Josh Holloway without a shirt on."

Some Twitter users have defended the White House, arguing: "Since when did TV shows become more important than the State of Union... crazy Americans."

The White House is yet to announce whether President Obama's speech will take place Tuesday February 2, or the week before on January 26.

Yes you crazy American's! What is more important?

LOST, of course!

Does Obama not own a television?? :O

Well he has played the Wii with his family, has he not?

So I'd say he has, perhaps he's just not a fan.

Anyone have Obama's e-mail address so I can ask him?

The White House has pledged not to disrupt the season premiere of Lost with President Barack Obama's State of the Union address.

February 2, the night Lost is scheduled to return to ABC, was reportedly one of the dates the White House was considering for the president's televised speech.

On Friday, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said that the annual speech has not been officially scheduled, but will not air on Tuesday, February 2, reports The AP.

"I don't foresee a scenario in which the millions of people that hope to finally get some conclusion in Lost are pre-empted by the president," Gibbs said at a press briefing.

ABC is devoting three hours to the evening in question to the premiere of the show's final season.

Awesome!!!

Perhaps the president wants his LOST fix too!

Um, whatever happened to this thread where it makes more sense to put the final season discussion? I think this old thread has been more than played out. New year, new season, new thread. Makes sense.

Well I'm not forcing anyone to post in this thread. Go post in the other one if it bothers you so much.

I've been updating this thread everytime I've seen something worth posting. So it's not like I dug this up from nowhere.
