Lost season 4

So what are some thoughts on Season 4 so far?

Spoilers beyond this point!!!

The season premiere didn't exactly knock my socks off. It was a fairly straightforward continuation from where season 3 ended, with no shocking surprises. Although it was cool to see Charlie (ghost, angel, hallucination?) visiting Hurley.

Episode 2 this week however was very good, and bizarre. 4 strange new characters introduced each with very different backgrounds. In Lost fashion, it left me more confused than ever. But that's what I like about the show, always intriguing.

Ep 2 ended with Ben saying he has someone working for him on the freighter. Any guesses? My guess is that it's Michael. I've read where he does return this season, so it kind of makes sense.

Did anyone catch the C.S Lewis reference?
Charlotte Staples Lewis... one of the new characters on lost?
Thought it was cool since Lost is becoming sort of like Narnia; the whole concept of finding a way into another world where time moves slower/faster.

That billboard alone...

"A new life awaits you in Seoul" (Seoul=Soul)

"Your ultimate destination"

C'mon....

It's all gonna end up as some morality play, with the major characters returning to the regular lives somewhat wiser, yet still wanting to go back to 'the island' to wrap up all the loose ends of their lives....

Maybe... ;)

Did anyone catch Ben's face when Hugo (Hurley) said he knew where the cabin was? So now Locke AND Hurley can hear "Jakob" hahaha. That is one huge slap in the face to Ben :)

I dunno, so far the show has been the reverse, all their loose ends seem to have started in their regular lives and on the island (now) they have been slowly tying them up. With recent developments, it's difficult to tell in what direction "the end" really is. The future we have seen so far hints that it's anything but the end.

It also seems that the "Oceanic Six" made a deal to get off the island in exchange not to tell the outside about the island's secrets (which are yet to be revealed to them). The rest, and "the others" are still alive but the Oceanic Six may have told the outside world that nobody else survived. This is the lie that Jack has mentioned which he can't go on living.

Or not. Who knows, really, the show can still go anywhere. There's still nearly 3 seasons left, so I'm sure the story will drastically change several more times.

I feel like I'm the only fan of this show here. Too bad. This season has been incredible. The story is advancing at a much faster pace than previous seasons. Last night's episode "The Constant" was one of the best of the series. If you watch it, prepare yourself for a major mental mind fuck. Here's a sneak peek of what went down:

I love "Lost". It, of course, drives me insane. I used to think about it all the time. Now, I just watch it, and mostly accept whatever they throw my way. I'll just trust them in tying it all back together.

I didn't enjoy the Desmond ep as much as the others thus far this season. If they want to do time travel, then bring back Journeyman. Maybe I was still stunned at Kate and the baby, Aaron, conclusion the week before. So, what did it mean for Desmond to be the scientists' 'constant'? Any ideas?

I think it just means that the physicist has been doing alot of "time traveling" too. Since he encountered Desmond in 1996 and now (2004), that makes Desmond his constant in case something goes wrong like it did for Desmond. The physicist is probably alot more in control of things though than Desmond was.

The "time traveling" isn't physical, it's only within their consciousness. I bet everyone on the island, including Desmond, have alot in common with Eloise, the lab rat.

Thanks. Now, I'm just going to pretend like you're one of the program's scribes...so, tell me, how does Katie end up with Claire's baby? Does Clarie die? Does the good Dr know in the future that Claire is his half-sister? What could he have against little Aaron by not refusing to visit?

And having alot in common with Eloise, who croaks...not such a good thing.

I have not missed one single episode since it started. I love this show. I have to admit last season was a bit slow but this season is great so far!

Lol. Scribe? Hardly. I've had alot of theories, and many have been wrong. But always trying to figure this show is the fun of it. My current theory about Kate and Aaron is that Claire was unable to leave (escape) the island but she is still alive. Maybe she asked Kate to take Aaron with her knowing that Kate was able to leave. The Oceanic 6 cut a deal with someone to get off the island in exchange for not telling the outside world about the island. Although I don't have a clue why Kate is letting everyone think Aaron is her child or why Jack has to keep his distance from them.

I suspect either in Season 5 or 6 that the story will shift to what happens farther into the future, after what we are seeing now. Do Jack, Kate, Hurly, Sayid, and ? go back to the island for unfinished business?

And having alot in common with Eloise, who croaks...not such a good thing.
Which is why Ben's been warning everyone that they are all in danger.

Yeah, I've always had a hunch that Ben wasn't that evil. He's an awesome actor, too.

I buy your Kate/Claire hypothesis...the chill from Jack toward the baby and even Kate will be interesting to watch unfold.

Who do you think will comprise the O6? You mentioned the 4 thus far, but you didn't count Aaron. Wouldn't he qualify as #5?...several ways to view it...he was on the plane in Claire's womb, thus he survived the flight. On the other hand, he wasn't on the airline manifest. I think at least one, maybe both, of the Japanese couple will be among the O6.

Only MEGA-HUGE mistake that Lost ever made was killing off Boone. We hardly knew that sexy dude.

I'm thinking that # 5 and 6 will be Michael and Walt. I don't think Aaron officially will count. I also think Michael is on the boat and is the one that opened the door for Desmond and Sayid. He must be Ben's inside-man on the boat that he mentioned a couple weeks ago.

Yeah, I really miss Boone. I hope they at least have him return again in some form.

See, this show throws so much at you. The week before, I thought about Micheal as the inside man, and then completely forget about it when this Desmond ep rolled around. I just thought the pilot opened it, but , of course it was likely Micheal.

You must keep a flow chart because I can't keep up with all the storylines.

By the way, it seems like last May was a lifetime ago, but did all of The Others who were living in the compound die? I was wondering about them and couldn't remember what happened. I recall that one man with dark hair who seemed to be high in the pecking order...there was once a flashback episode involving a young Henry in which this man also appeared and this guy looked as if he did not age at all in the present day. Do you recall who I'm talking about and what happened to him?

The guy you are referring to is Richard. He and the rest of the others are assumed to still be alive. Ben told them to go to "the temple" in the season 3 finale. This must not be a place we've seen yet.

Boy, I missed that completely. Years from now, I'm going to take a vacation and just spend a week watching all 6 or so years of the Lost episodes on DVD back-to-back.

I'm not so sure, for whatever reason, that Walt makes it off the island. I understand that time travel now definitely exists on this show but a growing boy experiencing puberty outside the show is going to grow much faster than whatever time is being presented on the show. Ultimately this is going to cause problems if he sticks around and I'm thinking, once again for whatever reason, that Walt somehow doesn't make it off the island.

And even if the growth can be explained, and I don't doubt it can be from greater minds than mine, I still only suspect Michael of making it off the island and even that feeling isn't very strong. It's either Michael or neither of them.

Plus I'm still waiting for them to explain why it is Michael and Aaron are both so 'special'.

And yeah, I'm hoping Boone will be back. I'm hoping all the dead characters (minus Niki, Paulo and Ana Lucia) will return in one way or another.
