LOST: you all gave up huh?

I've still been watching though I'm getting more and more annoyed. I'll probably keep watching unless something happens that causes me to miss a couple of episodes like work or going out. I know I can watch episodes that I miss on the internet now but if you get too backed up, it becomes like why bother.

Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse are negotiating with ABC about when to finish the show. They want a guarantee from the Network not to cancel the show before it runs its natural course. The plan is for 2 more seasons. I think that would be fine. Any more and they may run into problems.

I'm at the same point that a lot of the show's fans are at. I'm just getting frustrated by the lack of answers that have been given. It seems like nothing at all has been concretely answered and they keep throwing new mysteries onto the pile. It's more impatience then anything, thinking that we as fans have "invested" two and a half years in this show willing to wait it out and be strung along the whole time, but just now are finally wanting something more in return. Additionally, I thought the first part of this season prior to the hiatus, was pretty dull with poorly-written episodes. The whole thing is just becoming very drawn out and I'm getting sick of it. The past two episodes I thought were really good. They were very well-written and started focusing a bit on some of the other more interesting (IMO) things and people on the island. With that said, even after finishing watching these episodes, I felt sort of like "and............?", just annoyed that yet again, nothing has been answered. I think they can only pull this meta-physical, convoluted, philosophical storyline so far before people just get fed up. I'll stick with the show, probably until the end unless it becomes completely insufferable, but I'm definitely not as into it as I once was.

I gave up on Lost during season 2, it just got too drawn out for me and I felt like the writers really had no clue where thay were taking the story.

Watched season 1 on DVD - loved it. But got really frustrated with it in Season 2 due to its broadcast schedule of 4 weeks on, 2 weeks off, a few weeks of repeats, 2 more new shows, another week off, etc. etc. Lots of people felt that way, so they tried to fix that this season with the two non-stop half-seasons. Problem now - frustration again - too many new questions, not enough answers as others are saying.

I'm really hoping they run out of 'flashbacks'... One of these days, you're going to see one of the characters take a dump in his/hers past and wake up from the revery only to find himself/herself lying in a pile of their own almost forgotten shit...lol

It gets sooooo boring it hurts.

Also, that's got to be the most populated 'deserted' island in the world: the others, the cientists, one half of the plane, another half of the plane, Rousseau, the guy who was in the shaft punching the numbers... and so on and so on.

I'm not usually one to trash anything, but this has got to be the dumbest show I've seen...lol

Every episode is the same:
-Revery into the past (love the ones where they mix new old characters. Talk about coincidence!)
-A character awakens from revery only to find something from their past in front of them
-plot twist to make everything more confusing
-introduction of a new character or more. Everybody goes to that island!

That was fun and interesting in the beginning, but it really doesn't lead anywhere. The writers keep shoving in all these 'clues' and things to look out for, but I'm starting to think most of them are just put in there for no reason other than to confuse people.
They keep throwing in new 'twists' or plot lines, and while trying to keep up, everything that they brought up in earlier episodes is just forgotten.

I hate how they keep saying 'Well, we know where we're going with the story' because at this rate the series is going to end with one huge exposition episode like 'Ok, now this is what it all means'.

That's where I'm thinking "Heroes" is headed. It happened at the end to "Alias" but "Alias" handled its twisted storylines well. But "Heroes" is starting to make no sense, as is "Lost." :D I think the writers of "Lost" are LOST.

Yet you keep watching. Fascinating.

That's the show's successful formula. The same formula that got everyone hooked on it in the first place.

I swear, I'm fed up with all the bitch, bitch, bitching from people who continue watching the show. Stop watching it or STFU!!!

Was it me, or did we NOT get the answers to 3 questions as stated in the commercial? The only thing I got partailly answered was what happened to the people the Others' kidnapped. And the majority of episode revolved around...how Jack got his tattoo? I need real answers!

Yes we got no answers. We saw HOW Jack got the tattoo (singular, because he has more than one) but we don't really know why or what it has to do with ANYTHING WHATSOEVER. We saw where the kidnappe's went but that's about it, we just got confimation they were alive, which we all suspected since last season.

I do have to admit though that it seems like a shift is (hopefully) coming because they show is getting a bit tedious to watch.

Listen, NO one was a bigger 'Lost' fan than *I* was for all of the first season.

In the second season, things began to lag, but there were enough fascinating moments to keep me tuning in...

But, I never dreamed that the show would get so boring and repetitive that I would just tune out altogether...

As much as the writers swore it wouldn't become another 'X-files', it has.

I recognize J J Abram's' writing style, and he's painting himself into the same old corner.

What we want is *concrete* answers.

1) What killed the co-pilot in season one that left him bloodied and, well,
*dead* on the tree tops ? A plume of dinosaur roaring, thunderstorm containing smoke ? Um, no... That's not gonna cut it.

2) How is it that 'Ethan Rom' (rearrange the letters, it spells out 'other man') was killed by Charlie, and yet now he's still alive and attending 'book clubs' ?

3) Gotta mention the polar bear, of course. Where did it come from, how was Sawyer able to shoot and kill it ? If they are existing, as we've been led to believe, as 'electromagnetic waves' causing hallucinations, where did the bears blood come from, and what happened to it's carcass ?

4) Where are Walt and his Father ? They were able to escape this world in just a sailboat ? If so, why wouldn't they send help ?

The Q's go on and on until you realize that you've been had. There is NO possible plausible explanation for all of this. Just endless commercial time for ABC.

You make some valid points but also seem to be a little confused in other spots for someone who is such a big fan of the show.

For instance, those book club meetings you're referring to that Ethan attended occured before the plane even crashed. In his latest reappearance, he wasn't even on the island yet. Ethan is dead.

Also we found out this very season that there were obviously tests done on animals as part of whatever is going on on the island. We knew about the sharks and when we saw the cages this season and actually had a character mention 'the bears' feeding themselves, it became pretty clear they weren't 'hallucinating' anything.

And, I may be a little wrong on the exact details, but it is my understanding that from the direction Michael and Walt were told to travel and the current surrounding the island that they'd be sailing in circles around the island without even realizing it. We kind of learned that to be true at the end of last season when Desmond's boat ended up back on the island.

There are a lot of questions that need answering, yes, but please, at least know what you're talking about before you call them out on something that has more or less already been adressed.

WARNING SPOLIER!!!!!!
this could just be fake but despite the producers denying it it is all a big brother / running man style plot they are all in a game sum of the cast control the game and are in the know how and its gonna end up with a fight to the death:-({|= with only one winner so its gonna be a pisser ](*,) if that is true!!!!!
this could be false though what have other people heard about the plot so far?

Well, pardon me !

I'll just sit here quietly until I get permission to speak again.

Oh, and it's spelled 'addressed'.

Qixote: Who says I fallow the show? I've seen a couple of episodes from the first season and sometimes I catch a scene while I'm bored and zapping. Every so often I see these scenes in the hope that the show has evolved or matured somehow... But I always end up never understanding the hype.

This is a thread where everybody is expressing their opinion and what I said before in my previous post is what I think of the show: It's boring, repetitive and the plot is LOST.

If you enjoy it, please do :)

No one is trying to silence you. Like I said, you did make some valid points about the pilots mysterious death and the show putting itself in a corner.

I only took issue on some of the points you brought up as if they were valid anymore, that is all.

And thank you for that spelling lesson. From now on you can be my go-to dictionary guy (/sarcasm/) :-)

I used to watch but all the breaks and the on/off stuff is ruining it for me. I just watch 24 now because I know I'll get 24 episodes all the way through. Sometimes even more than one in a week which is a nice surprise.

Who says I fallow the show?

As a matter of fact you said so yourself. Allow me to refresh your memory:
--HvH-- said:
Every episode is the same:

So if you are not watching "every episode" as you first said, then please refrain from accusing the show of always being the same, since you now are admitting you are in no position to make that claim. You can't have it both ways.

Qixote: If you watched some episodes here and there, and seen loose/random scenes and they always ended up going the same way... I think it is safe to assume that what I lost in between them isn't all that great. Maybe instead of saying 'every episode' I should have said that the mathematical statistical probability that this series isn't all that good to me is true based on the random samples I gathered...lol
Still, Fate - that weird magical concept- could be playing me and making me watch only lame/boring scenes from this show ;)

I'm just playing with you, please don't take offense.
I respect you wanting to defend a show you like, I really do. I'm a very passionate guy myself when it comes to the things I like.

HUGZ :)
