LOST: you all gave up huh?

i agree with most of you guys , my bf has stopped watching in season 3, but i still watch , i think im curious and hoping everyweek for something to happen. also i have to record it each week, because im working when it runs , and when i watch it on vcr, i forward through the add breaks and if you do that the show is about 15 mins long in total, and that's not fair

i will like to know where on the net can you go and see episodes you have missed?

but the problems are there really are more questions then answers,
and what is the story with the black smoke (explain that to me please, because it's not realistic)
a little more action in the episodes will also be nice, not so much flashbacks

the last 2 or 3 episodes have picked back up. This is the lost i remember :)

I am brazil, soh I *don't* count, but I have problem watching because I studying at nigth now, still, the show is not what it use to be... or at least I don't feel that way anymore.
I a heroes-boy now, can't stop loving that show. at least you know that something makes sense =)

still, the show is not what it use to be...

-an island filled with mysteries. check.
-each week focuses on a character with flashbacks. check
-more questions than answers. check
-respectable character development. check
-quality production values. check
-nothing is ever what it seems. check

All the elements that used to be in the show are still and have always been in the show.

Yeh...it is getting better...loved the Juliet twist at the end of last episode. Hopefully it will continue to improve and not leave me scratching my head saying "WTF is going on now???".

I think it's starting to pick up again after a not-so-great start to the season.

I dunno, personally I think that their 'formula' is getting a bit old. For me, I think the best episodes are the ones that are a little different and stand out more.
But for the most part the structure is getting a bit predictable. You know when there's a twist going on, you expect the shock moments to come.

Anyway, it seems to be improving, so here's hoping.

I agree with everyone that says it's starting to pick back up. Apart from the first 8 or so episodes, this season is much more focused and stronger than season 2. I guess it was a little too soon to complain, lol.

I also agree that the episodes that stand out are the ones I like best, like say 'The Other 48 Days' and most recently the excellent 'Expose'.

i started watching lost again only becuase everything else was on hiatus and showing repeats and its almost as disappointing as i remember. i actually liked the expose episode up until they were buried alive at the end. then it was too much like outer limits and became stupid. as far as the juliet twist, i thought it was painfully obvious that she was playing them. now everything is more confusing as far as the baby thing is concerned. way to go writers, u suck

ABC announced this week that they are putting a halt to those damned flashbacks which consume half the show and lead to NO PROGRESS!

Thank God!

Let's not get crazy here. They actually said they were cutting them out of the 3.19 (May 2) episode, which was later found to be a misunderstanding as of today. There will be flashbacks people. This is still LOST.

Oh wow, evilmonkey, that is HORRIBLE news.

I have never really given up on 'Lost' although this is the season I have not been terribly excited about. I'm not one of those people that wants ALL the answers now and I can wait a couple more years to learn everything.

Those flashbacks literally consume half the show and makes things go at a snail's pace. It's a good thing I'm already a fan of daytime dramas (hi, "One Life To Live" and "The Young & The Restless") because this baby moves slower than any soap on the slowest of slow days!

Too much Desmond, sort of like treading water. Wanted to see the Juliet storyline continue and watch trusting Jack get screwed over. How many more epis left?

There's four more episodes left, Ontariobear: May 16 is the season finale.

And if you're complaing about "not enough of" characters well I think Sun and Gin deserve that award. I don't think I've seen sufficient airtime to Sun since the first or second show of the season (way back in November?) when she shot that chick (one of the Others) on the boat. Ugh.

It looks like this Wednesday's show will feature Sun, Claire and Julliette when they discuss maternal issues on the island.

What ever happened to Rose and Bernard?

Sawyer mentioned that he got the mixed tape from him. She was the black woman who kept hope that her husband who was in the back of the plane would survive and he arrived at camp with Mr Eko and Anna Lucia.

The writers have said in the official podcast that they don't want to bring in the actors that play Rose and Bernard unless they have something really significant for them to do storyline wise, which is why we don't see them at funerals or the return of the characters like many were wondering.

Meanwhile, renegade, I agree that the flashbacks do seem to make the show seem slower. I think it has more to do with so many of the flashbacks being rehashes of previous flashbacks. Add that to the fact that we've more Jack, Locke and Kate flashbacks than Claire has had lines this season, and it makes you wish they weren't there.

You have to admit though that when they're good, they're really good.

True.

I think TPTB have noticed the ratings slip when the show "roared back" as Entertainment Weekly missed the mark on and they're trying to FINALLY please the fans by bringing back the actual island/beach.

The past three shows have been the best since the end of the first season.

But today -- while watching the mind-numbingly slow-paced No. 1 soap opera on daytime TV, "The Young & The Restless," "Lost" came to mind and I started noticing just how similar the entire "Lost" concept seems to be and what daytime TV has been all these 70 years.

I know I mentioned it earlier -- that "Lost" is almost more than a soap than a soap really is. And I so believe that more than ever.

On daytime TV -- you never really get to "that point." Sure there is a payoff but it's not something that just pops up out of the blue and I think that that is what "Lost" is all about. It's the little things that happen on the way to getting to that "finale" or "conclusion."

Like Kate's obvious jealousy over Julliette (this proves Juliette is in fact a bitch), Desmond saving Charlie's life, etc.

And when you look at the show and it's many storyline arcs from this angle, it kinda makes the entire journey a little more pleasant.

Sadly I think the ratings will be even worse for seasons four and five. But I'll still be there. I've stuck it out with "Y&R" for over 25 years! :)

Sun's time is coming very soon. She'll be very prominent in the last 4 episodes. She's the last pregnant woman on the island . . . and we all know how the others just love pregnant women.

Don't forget Kate may in fact turn out to be preggers. Of course, in LOST time, we'd only just be finding out before teh series ended, lol.

I admit, things are getting a bit tiring LOST. Here's what I would like to see to shake things up. By the end of this season, or middle of next-----the full backgrounds and motivation of the LOST castaways AND the full backgrounds and motivations of the Others, are revealed. At that time we realize that this whole time we have been rooting for THE WRONG GUYS. Remember, the Lost castaways are the only ones who have ever killed anyone (except for a rogue character last year) and the leader of the Others has always said they were the good guys. It would be interesting for the producers to make us hate the people we have come to like, and like the ones we believed we should hate.
