thankfully, I've never heard that True Faith song...and definitely won't listen to it now.

I've heard the song before, it was the 80s hit i think.
But now this song is linked forever to a crime which will send chills if i'm alone and suddenly hear this song.

That is in fact one of my favourite songs from the 80s. It is a perfectly good song, excellent really, and I refuse to make space in my brain for any association with this common murderer.

I hope you will all give it a listen; it helped define the soundscape of an era. We can't let things like this be redefined by one inept narcisistic murderer. Are we to abandon facebook too because he used it? Or we will never wear jeans again because he wore jeans?

Moreover, it is probably fair to say that more than one person survived his adolescence by thinking about life through the musical lens of, and against the backdrop of, New Order's observations about life in their music. If I think of any association at all between the song and these events, it will be as I would think of an unwelcome party guest throwing up on my favourite carpet. Though his crime was monstrous, he is basically just an irrelevant shitstain, fading fast. We still own the music.

And I do FULLY agree with what bankside said as well, it's just that now anytime I hear that song, the images of the video instantly come into my mind, and there's nothing I can do to quell that. Maybe with time it will go away, but it will take a LONG long time... But I DO agree it's an awesome song!

Hear, hear! When the song was playing in this old TOTP rendition as I read through the comments, the old pop video of the two(?) dancers in face paint and bi-colour skin tight body suits played in my head. This is how I remember it, not with this messed up murderer.

Had he used this song by New Order, 'Touched By The Hand of God, here would be so much analysis. Does Magnotta think he's God? That kind of thing

If this song was played during the murder, it would be ruined as well.
