Mac or a PC ?

Good grief, these ludicrous 'Mac versus PC' threads are becoming (almost) as tediously pointless as all the 'cut versus uncut' shite posted on this forum. #-o

mac osx.... a bsd version of unix that's so unlike bsd unix that it needs a bsd unix compatability layer to translate bsd unix into mac osx.

I'm soooo pissed I bought a Mac Book. They Suck!!!! I can't watch any videos (like if you go to xbox.com and want to watch a preview of a game, I dowload it to my desktop and when I try to watch it in Quicktime it says "not a movie file"), it doesn't come with a writting program, so now I have to spend like 150-250$ for microsoft word, and like no programs that I want to dowload work on it(like the program to use my 360 controler to play WoW, only pc users can do that). I was warned not to buy a Mac, but I did anyway. BUY A PC!!!!!!!!!!!

Those are asx files which means you need to go to www.flip4mac.com and install Flip4mac. It's free. Takes about 3 minutes. I'm watching the high-quality trailers right now.. looks cool.

huh? get Neo Office for free. It reads and allows you to write and edit any Microsoft Office files.. documents, excel spreadsheets and presentations. Works beautifully. Or buy Pages... it's a mac native program and is cheaper.

I love my Macbook Pro. I can never go back to Windows after using it since May.

I mostly use Photoshop, Illustrator, graphic design programs mostly. They work great on it. I havent had one single problem with it.

Yea, I know it was a huge mistake, but WoW does work really good on it, I don't really play it anymore anyway but stil......... And thanks for the info you're the best I can watch video clips and everything now!!!!!!!:D
 
One of the MAJOR differences is that Apple designs hardware to work seamlessly with their software. The microkernel that underlys OS X is designed specifically to the Apple hardware, and knows exactly how to power manage and such very efficiently. Windows, while having the advantage of running on multiple hardware platforms, (Yes, even an Apple computer) is not as streamlined b/c it HAS to run on so many of the x86 platforms on the market- and therefore won't run quite as well. It's like the difference between a tailored suit and one you might pick up at wal-mart; both work, but one fits you so much better.

** and, as for the gamers, now that Apple is running as a high-power machine on most systems, and has such an advanced operating system, many game authors who do not already distribute both a Mac and PC edition of their games are beginning to re-open their products to the Mac platform. Given a bit of time, these fallacies that were true during the OS 9/Pre Jobs reinstatement will be proven completely false.

BTW this is NOT from a Mac fanboy perspective, as I have used Windows my whole life, and Mac for the last 10 years. I have seen it all.

If you want the most secure and stable system, however, look into a Linux based system... (they take a lot of work to perfect to your tasted though) :)
