I've heard that many polling sites are experiencing record turnouts today. Very good news for our side.

Polls close at 8 PM EST and results should be finalized by 10 PM

The secretary of state said the turnout was 50-55% which was higher than expected.

Certainly a possible good sign.

Looks like gay activist David Mixner is figuring out that Obama lied when he said he's our fierce advocate.

... We won't know the results until late in the evening, but there is one result that is overwhelmingly clear to LGBT citizens and their allies: President Obama and his team were zero help in this critical battle and in the last week might actually have hurt us. That is a fact. ...

You just have to come to grips with reality on this.

Had he voiced his support for gay marriage, he would have lied about that issue, and that lie would have offended more people than they gay community as a whole.

Thus, this being his first term, it is simply politically untenable for Obama to support gay marriage. He likely would not be president if he had supported gay marriage from the outset.

That doesn't mean he is not working with us. He signed the hate crimes bill into law, and last month the administration testified before Congress in support of ENDA. Talks with the military about DADT are ongoing.

You've just got to jettison your rage for the man and realize that change does not come overnight. Obama would not be in a position to effect change if he had done what you are asking.

Liking the results so far but the greater % of registered voters compared to precincts says that the precincts in so far are some of the more populous (and probably more liberal) ones, so it could still tighten up.

On the plus side though, no results in yet for Kennebec or York counties, which are two of the most populous ones.

5 points is pretty scary.

We Canucks have our fingers crossed for you guys!

dammit this is getting way too close

I'm with you too bro, they can do it!

I just wanted to point out, if yes does pass, don't despair. Destiny and time is on your side. :)

Also, I wanted to share a special thank you that I recorded yesterday shortly after I got the great news that you helped us raise over $75,000 in just one day to boost our final campaign efforts.

That was from Jesse Connolly. Wow. That's a hell of a lot.

It's back up guys, 54.48% yes to 45.52% no.

This is just too damned close.

God this whole thing is so depressing. Why are we the only minority who constantly has their life voted on by the public? It's really humiliating. I feel like a farm animal or something.
