I pay for everything... except rent.

Good. Not used credit is a good thing. I've never used credit or an overdraft either. Doesn't change that your parents cover a BIG expense. I live in a shared house and it still sets me back about £2.5-£3k per year. Honestly, if my parents gave me thousands of pounds a year... I'd wonder what I'd done to deserve it.

Then let's throw in a bigger, more expensive holiday than I've ever been given before...

Erm. No. Because otherwise every thread would be "Hi! Aren't we all lovely! Yes we are!" He has a good point. You were in Dubai and you couldn't come up with something better to do than that? Go for a walk, go swim in a swimming pool if you had one, go lay outside and tan, save up some money and go shopping, y'know, whatever. Or go do what your parents are doing. Maybe they're finding some nice shops, maybe they're seeing museums, maybe they're just tanning. Whatever. If they enjoyed it, and you didn't, that's probably because they left their hotel room and you didn't.

If I don't have the money, regardless how beautiful it is - and I see that a lot, because I'm a guitarist, meaning that I see 20 things I must have every time I walk past the guitar shop on the way to town - I don't spend it. Being in a position to spend money must be nice. I don't think everyone is.

You don't need help. What I think you need is a good old-fashioned ass whipping(which I imagine you didn't get as a child) because you're acting like an ungrateful, self-absorbed spoiled brat. This isn't remotely close to being a major problem of any kind and I think you should be really embarrassed for starting this thread.

Uh, you should have a degree. And work full time. And be able to manage money. You're a grown up. It's what we do.

Is it possible that your family is becoming broke and they're just ashamed to tell you ? I mean, allegedly your maid was stealing from you all, but since your mom isn't pressing charges, I have to wonder if she really just can't afford the maid's salary. And since you're family is insisting on going to Dubai, which isn't a fancy vacation by any means, I have to wonder if they just can't afford anything better. Plus, first class tickets aren't that much more expensive than coach tickets. And, they aren't even willing to compromise and spring for business class tickets. That makes me wonder if your family's bank account is drying up. These are hard economic times and some of the most affluent people have been forced to file for bankruptcy. I'd be a little nervous if I were you. Better start saving up before you end up in the poor house and have to start shopping at J.C. Pennys.
