Me Massage Therapist????

I was not attempting to degrade you in anyway. One of the masseur's I go to is highly trained and probably one of the best "pure" massage therapists that I have experienced. He has the best pure massage techniques that I have ever experienced from any massage therapist. He has compledted over 500 hours of training. . The fact that there are erotic elements to his massage sessions is an added benefit. There is a substantial difference between escorts and erotic massage therapists. And I would appreciate it if you would not imply that these type of massage therapists are escorts. Nor would I ever hire escorts.

In area of country where I live, it is clearly defined in advertising as to what type of massage each therapist does. It is not a matter of calling and asking what type of stuff the therapist does.

He may be a license and trained however, if he engages in sex work he is providing services not in keeping with message therapy. The ethics are very clear about the boundaries set regarding sexual activity in this profession.

I went to a Board meeting in my state and heard cases of male therapists sexually abusing clients one where a therapists pulled out his dick and wipedit across the face of a male client and another where the therapists raped a female client. Engaging in any sexual activities performing in the capacity of a session is cause to lose one's license and charges being brought. People advertising as an LMBT face felony charges. Yes. We're that serious about our profession.

Oh and make no mistake you re hiring an escort when you hire someone for any type of sexual release.

We are clearly getting away from the OP's original purpose of thread. Enough debate on this issue. I respect your thoughts and passion for what you do. I know that there are abuses in every profession and I would venture to say that the cases you are referring to were situtations where the client didn't go to the masseur for anything related to erotic or sensual massage work; and yes the massage therapist took advantage of them by crossing lines that we find in medical, dental, ministerial professions more than we would like to see. What I am referring here is situations where the professional takes advantage of the vulnerability of the client or patient they are working with.

Here is a link to a guy up in Seattle...

I found his website VERY interesting...

And I'm sure NW007 might also...

Not sure what the TECHNICAL term for his message might be -- but it sounds FUN!!!

:):):)

This guy is not a Massage Therapist. This is the confusion that goes with being a Massage/Bodywork therapist.

Massage/Bodywork Therapist do not offer sexual services. It is not in our scope of practice. Anything other then what is detailed in our scope of practice is something else and not to be confused with Massage/Bodywork Therapy.

This last link is very informative:

Advertising Erotic massage is Escorting.

This is very much on topic because the Op is worried about making money. This type of activity within our community and outside affects the male therapist and the view society has on us. It cannot be dismissed because you are unwilling to admit you hire someone to engage in escort activities. also, of not there was a story not to long ago on 20/20 about a male therapist hiding a camera to catch women getting undressed. There are lines you do not cross and once you do you have ventured into territory that has a negative impact on the people who chose to help others.

^ here again, the 20/20 example is what I was stating earlier. It was clearly a violation of holding themselves out to be something they weren.t Plus the client obviously was not coming to the therapist for anything other than traditional massage work. Once again the therapist was taking advantage of client's vulnerability and clearly violating patients confidentiality and privacy.
