To Dolly! followed two other Broadway musicals, The Boy Friend (1970) and Follies (1971). [2]

After an absence of nearly ten years, he returned to Broadway in 1980 as a substitute for Jim Dale in the title role of the musical Barnum . In the following decade he played in three other productions by Follies , in San Jose (1987), Houston (1987) and Long Beach (1990), followed by three other productions in 1998 (San Jose), 2003 (Ann Arbor) and 2004 ( Irvine).
