Re: how do you feel about michael jackson...

... i'm not that affected by it... in fact i'm shocked how many people are upset about it...
I'm not shocked in the least how many ppl are affected by it. I can't really think of a bigger name on this planet than Michael Jackson and I don't even consider myself a fan. Whether you think he's relevant today or not you can't deny his impact on pop culture. It really takes the death of him for ppl to realize what he's really about.

Re: how do you feel about michael jackson...

I love his music...have since I was a kid...sure he got weird towards the end...but honestly I don't care. He was a musician and I admire him for his music not for his personal life.

and I don't know why so many people are like "this news coverage is ridiculous!" I remember almost equivalent news coverage for Anna Nicole and Heath Ledger. I was kinda wrapped up in the Anna Nicole stuff....but Heath Ledger was one that I could not understand why there were so many distraught people. He was a mediocre actor who was in two memorable movies before his death(one after his death). That's just my opinion but to each his own.

RIP Ed, Farrah, Michael
I agree with you.

Re: how do you feel about michael jackson...

i am truly shocked and saddened by his death..
and people should remember him not for his crazy antics, but for his music, his moves and his amazing showmanship..

but personally, he always seemed like such an incredibly good-hearted and innocent person, i don't belive he was guilty of those allegations, i just think some people were trying to take advantage of him..

r.i.p. michael, i still can't believe it..

Re: Favorite Michael Jackson songs

>>>Yes, he did have a song about his pet rat called "Ben" when he was only 13 yo.

Most assuredly NOT about his pet rat. It was theme song to a movie ABOUT a rat - Ben, the sequel to Willard.

He did, however, write a song for Diana Ross called "Muscles", named after his boa constrictor.

Re: [merged] Michael Jackson Dies at 50

Big Deal, he was a lousy performer and a Child Molester.

Bury him and be rid of it. That is all that is on TV
Was that really necessary ?

I'm sorry your Lawrence Welk reruns have been interupted, they should return at 7pm tonight, right before your bedtime.

Re: RIP michael jackson!

A Very Messed Up Man, Im Not Glads He's Dead But Atleast Now There Is One Less Peadophile In The World.......................r.i.p

You're the biggest asshole. You saying that comment defeats the purpose of you even saying "rest in peace". You can't feed into what the media tells you and how things play out. Him being a "pedophile" is something you and I would NEVER know.

Re: [merged] Michael Jackson Dies at 50

The media coverage has been unreasonably overdone. I doubt the death of Obama or the Pope, or the return of Jesus Christ would get this much coverage. Nearly 100% of all the news is on MJ. But I am absolutely certain that less than 25% of the public really cares about MJ that much, and they likely would like to be able to get other news, or programming. We could be getting nuked by North Korea tomorrow, and the news would still be talking about MJ 24/7.

Re: how do you feel about michael jackson...

I'm sad by it..yeah in recent times he may have made controversy..but the guy left a legacy of music..pushing boundaries in amazing videos & songs..I think alot are sad since it's the music we grew up with..part of our lives in someway...

What leads you to this conclusion? was he really a lousy entertainer?

Re: [merged] Michael Jackson Dies at 50

i hope you're just trying to stretch your point a bit, because otherwise - don't kid yourself. particularly the death of obama would be staggering news.

michael jackson's death is just being covered so much because of his icon status in the entertainment world. like i saw in an interview - someone said "you can't really love the guy, but you can't not love him either". he had such a phenomenal impact on popular music and pop culture - he's known in all corners of the world.

but this too shall pass in a few days. until toxicology comes back and is made public. then it's going to stir up again depending on how sensational the results are and if any 3rd party is implicated.

Re: [merged] Michael Jackson Dies at 50

michael jackson's death is just being covered so much because of his icon status in the entertainment world.

That and the fact that it was so sudden and unexpected. Both Farrah and Ed had been ill for quite some time. It was sad, but not unexpected. Michael was right up there with Elvis and John Lennon and Cass Elliot and Marvin Gaye. . . etc.

Re: [merged] Michael Jackson Dies at 50

This is a joke ....I've just received.

Farah Fawcett died and went to heaven, she met god and he gave her one wish. She asked for all the children of the world to be safe. So God killed Michael....

Re: [merged] Michael Jackson Dies at 50

I'm very disgusted the way news media outlets such as BBC World, CNN International and others have done nothing other than MJ in the past 24 hours. This is what you call dumb downed media. It's to the point they are interviewing everyone and there grandmother about him. What's next? I know. Coming up an exclusive interview with the man who cut Michael's hair. Following by another exclusive interview with the people who took out his garbage. Talk about beating a dead horse.
Let's see. People fighting for change in Iran - nothing, the DPRK making noises about a second nuclear test - nothing, 53 people killed in a mud slide in SE Asia - nothing, a bomb killing 8 people in Iraq - nothing, madman Mugabe - nothing.
But if your a 50 year old dead pop star 24/7. This is just sick!
First the media wasted so much time blasting him calling him Wacko Jacko and other names, now they are kissing his ass.

True true true. And it happens everywhere in the world. It pisses me off too, it's like LET THE GUY REST IN PEACE what the heck can they say that they haven't already??? I mean, he is a legend, we are sad, but the media can really get annoying.

Madonna's words about Michael:

"I can't stop crying over the sad news. I have always admired Michael Jackson. The world has lost one of the greats, but his music will live on forever! My heart goes out to his three children and other members of his family. God bless."

- Madonna

Re: Red necks comments on Jackson death vs. JUB

Now think about this. What grown man in his right mind is going to have somebody else's kids sleeping in his bed with him? Even if he didn't do anything, a normal person would think "Hey. This could look really bad!". If nothing else, it shows extremely poor judgment and a very loose grip on reality.

I don't think he had a good grip on reality.

Re: RIP michael jackson!

What you're saying is so absurd.. so Farrah Fawcett (R.I.P.) who was suffering from cancer for the past years was a shock and michael jackson who was planning a comeback concert wasn't? She was a wonderful, beatuiful person, but not a lot of people outside the U.S really know her.. HE's a global phenomenon, you shouldn't judge people for their personal lives, that's their business, people should remember him for his one of a kind showmanship, his voice and his moves.. whether you liked him personally or not, you can't say you didn't like his music...

once again R.I.P. Michael Jackson, you will be greatly missed...

and i know this isn't my thread but plz, if you're not gonna say anything nice, don't say anything at all,
have some respect for the recently deceased..

"You and I must make a pact, we must bring salvation back, where there is love, I'll be there" Michael Jackson/Jackson 5

No, I stand by what I say. No on knew Farrah was that sick till the last week. And I was never a fan of his. I would normally say what you do in your private life is your business but not in this case. I could never listen to music by a baby raper. You think that's harsh? Tough.
