Re: how do you feel about michael jackson...

i didn't know him, so i have no "feelings" about his death. that being said, its too bad. i remember dancing to his music with my brother and sister when we were kids. we even had the mj action figures. The red/black jacket and the blue sparkle shirt one.

Re: Michael Jackson Traffic Melts Entire Internet

Now I recall something weird happening with my connection (my default page is google.cn) that night (CET), but also the next night... but I couldn't relate it to that and I'm not sure at all it was because of THAT.

Re: RIP michael jackson!

Okay, sorry. A few months than.

2 years actually.. which is a bit different form 1 week...

if you don't care about him don't comment on this thread!

Re: RIP michael jackson!

Oh god - PLEASE quit with all the child molestation shit.
He was found INNOCENT!
Get over it!
The man was a legend and hes dead - show some fucking respect.
Whether you like him or not, nobody can deny that he was a mega talent with some of the best songs in history.
To me - he wasnt just the king of pop, he was THE king, and in my opinion, when Michael died, a piece of music died with him.
RIP Michael - I love you.

Re: RIP michael jackson!

So because people sued him and took him to court for molesting a child and he was proven INNOCENT, somebody just comes to the conclusion and believes that he was a child molestor? Does that make sense?

The media is two-faced. Bashed him all this time and took away from all the great things he did for the world (philanthropy work) and all the charities he funded and all the boundaries he broke, played such an influential role in music and always with a feel good POSITIVE message. Listening to his songs again now makes me feel incredibly sad and depressed because he is the King of Music period and I don't think anybody will be able to fill that void EVER because of the direction music has been heading now in this generation.

Re: [merged] Michael Jackson Dies at 50

I'm surprised no one has mentioned one very obvious fact about MJ that pertains to this forum:

Michael Jackson was, perhaps, the world's most famous and prominent gay man.

I'm shocked no one discusses his sexuality. But he was definitely gay. All of his "marriages" with women were mainly based off deep friendship (Lisa Presley said it herself), kind of like the fag hag deal.

If you ever seen a fem/drag queen persona that's basically Michael Jackson.

And of course, his love for little boys. Whether he molested them or not he probably did, but even if he didn't...there is 100% proof that he had a deep affection for young boys.

If he was actaully straight, we would have heard of his trysts with various ladies and groupies. But no.

So for the gay world, Michael Jackson's death is the death of the most famous gay man in recent history.

No one will ever mention he's gay, of course, because he was ridiculously closeted, along with the host of other issues - which, undoubtedly, was one part of his tremendous internal pain.

Re: Red necks comments on Jackson death vs. JUB

I'm far from a redneck and I've developed a balanced line, which I think most of your so called rednecks are saying. Michael Jackson was of course an extremely talented individual who influenced all music. I'm sure he was a good friend and meant a lot to them and their families.

But at the same time he was a deeply troubled dark individual who did a lot of horrible things. Through memoirs of people who knew him he pushed a lot of people away with his demons, he was incredibly selfish and constantly in need of praise (to the point where he had to create an imaginary fantasy world). Everything was always about him, about creating a scene, about "being loved". Then he did stupid shit like dangle his baby off a building (again, for attention and some sort of justification), and of course the child molestation allegations, which, if anyone with half a mind read thoroughly, are almost certainly true, but a jury never gets a big celebrity in trouble.

And with all his money he doesnt really do shit for charity. Sure, we are the world, but most of the money went to Neverland, ridiculous expenditures, grooming littel boys, giant Disney toys, plastic surgery. So we can't recognize him as being much of an altruistic individual either.

Understandably he had a horrible life filled with abuse, from his father Joe, etc etc. But the thing is, so did his brothers and sisters, and they turned out ok. And even if his abuse was especially bad, millions of people in the world go through just as bad, if not worse (and reach huge fame too). They didn't act in the selfish, irreponsible way Jackson has done.

So his family and friends should grieve, and his contributions - to music - shouldn't be understated. But the person Michael Jackson was not a good one, so excuse us if we aren't willing to worship like him our best friend just died.

Re: [merged] Michael Jackson Dies at 50

Today though, inbetween MJ coverage, they are talking about Iran again and doing other news stories. But the focus is still on Michael, which is expected seeing how all types of weird stuff is happening around his death. (like his personal doctor fleeing the scene before paramedics arrive)

But Iran and other world news is a million miles away. Michael Jackson comes from America's back yard. He brings in the ratings and bucks. Iran doesn't.

Re: Red necks comments on Jackson death vs. JUB

Now think about this. What grown man in his right mind is going to have somebody else's kids sleeping in his bed with him? Even if he didn't do anything, a normal person would think "Hey. This could look really bad!". If nothing else, it shows extremely poor judgment and a very loose grip on reality.
The out of court settlement didn't help either. Now THAT screams guilt to me!

Unless of course the accusers were after money in the first place. ;) One of the children who made these allegations has, since MJ's death, stated that his father forced him to make the allegations. Hmmm. Wonder what the motive was.

Re: Michael Jackson Traffic Melts Entire Internet

Certain sites definitely slowed down. I believe Google thought it was under attack due to the surge of queries of 'Michael Jackson' and effectively 'blocked' searches on his name until it was satisfied that it wasn't a concerted automated worldwide virus attack - hence the error page that people got.

Overall, I think most organisations were pleased with the way that their systems held up.

Which is why it should have gone through the full legal process to clear his name - if he truly was innocent. The payout inferred guilt...

Inferrences can lead to erreneous conclusions. Besides, the legal process is overrated and faulty, or OJ woulda been in prison years ago. Assuming he (MJ) WAS innocent and it went to trial leading to a wrongful conviction, he wouldn't have been the first innocent man in history to be convicted of a crime he didn't commit. The payout could've inferred he has no faith in the justice system or wanted it to be over-with instead of months of legal proceedings.

Re: [merged] Michael Jackson Dies at 50

As the family have now asked for a 2nd autopsy, the story will be boosted again by conjecture. The LA Coroner however has 'found nothing suspicious'.

The payout may have cost less than a prolonged legal battle might have....

And certainly wouldn't have taken up as much time and effort.

Re: [merged] Michael Jackson Dies at 50

And now the Circus begins.

Jesse Jackson has arrived (of course), along with Deepak Chopra. Janet removing 'stuff' from the rental house.

Ugh.
