They don't ship them until an official number is assigned. Only jerseys with the "correct" number will be sold. So, it shouldn't matter when you order.

The "10" in the sample photo was used because Sam was the 10th pick by St. Louis in the 2014 draft.

Sam asked for #52 (his old number at Missouri) with #55 and #50 as alternates. However, all three of those are already taken on the Rams, so Sam won't get any of them. The Rams said Saturday that a number will be issued "this week." The jerseys begin shipping two to four weeks after the number is assigned.

Thank hell the link doesn't work. Only took two days for people to try and find out everything they could about the guy, when the only person that cared before was Michael Sam(oh, and a certain poster that cared about his skin color and not his character, or love, or any of that nonsense... him being white matters more than anything else, ever, at all).

The number thing brought to mind the jerseys worn by a bunch of math students at OSU for intramural sports -- pi, square root of two, e, and other constants (the symbols, of course).

Nevermind, 96 has a lot going for it. It is the largest number that is not a sum of unique super primes, and it's also a rare untouchable number. Neat idea though.

...shouldn't he just, like, play for a season or two first before doing frivolous shit like this? Currently it is a bit of non-story, only just beginning and hardly worthy of a documentary. The guy is just opening himself up for loads more criticism from here on out.
