No, that's right, Telly.

No one has the right to assault, just as the kids surrounding him had no right to do what they did. This story is about both sides behaving outside the law, but the social approbation is the only blow-up story, as it is couched in the values of yesteryear while ignoring the status quo of today.

The ensuing melee, and the earthshattering smack the man gave the girl who was charging him to attack him, is the result. Two groups in a fight, just like at a bar, or the parking lot outside the club.

If it were two teens, no story. Two adults? No story. Age barrier crossed, alleged interracial story using a one-way filter to view it with.

The question then becomes, how does a state handle such a dissolution of the social fabric? Will the solution be an ever present police force, at every gathering and monitoring everyone? Will it be the UK with cameras in every imaginable Big Brother perch, and a soft serve version of everything Orwellian? Will it be the disintegration of safe living spaces like in the urban ghettos in Detroit, Chicago, LA, and other places where kids at the same age as this "victim" become the first wave of gang members before they become real gangs, as they are broken free of parental control long before they even reach high school?

Or are we going to just occasionally have some outlier street justice event, like this one, followed by the public crucifixion of the individual who stood to stem the tide, to block the ceding of his community to the forces of unchecked chaos.

And it had jack all to do with race, except that if the man who had blown up had been black, it would have been ignored by the SJW, just like the actual deaths of 11 year olds in drive by shootings.

^ if it was a black guy punching a white girl I would have posted it, and be responding in the same way. I was shocked by the violence of the punch.

But I bet your responses would be completely different.

If it were a pack of wild teens acting that way, and an adult, sane man, punching one who was charging him, I would and am reacting how I am. It's not about race. The outrage is about race perceptions.

I'm not the one outraged.

If you want to argue about my supposed reactions instead of my actual ones, you go to town. That way, you can control both sides of the debate. But my actual responses remain my own.

If you think you have some basis for claiming I'd post differently, defending white victims and condemning black perpetrators, and attributing it to race, then please do resurrect said threads and prove it. However, what will be evident is simply a consistent pattern of condemning murders, not so much about excusing white actions or condemning black ones.

And, conversely, I have the actual letter from the US attorney in Atlanta when I wrote to him concerning the hate crime scalding in the homophobia incident last year, both the victims and the actor being black in that crime. That doesn't really fit in a tar-him-with-racism scenario, does it?

Not to conflate topics, but I posted a similar regard for 12-year-olds in the rape thread. If they don't act like kids, don't treat them like kids. There is nothing sacred or magical about being 12. Kids as young as 12 can and do kill people. Kids as young as 12 can and do break into homes and steal. Kids as young as 12 do torment and harry adults on the street.

I'm not for preserving the prior cultural norms. I'd be happier seeing the herd thinned.

This reminds me of something that happened years ago, a bunch of kids, tweens and teens male and female were gathered across from my home while I was at work. They were yelling insults at my wife because she has CP, we had talked to the cops about this before and they said that they couldn't do anything because "they were just kids".

My son was home and he was 12, he'd had enough and went out and punched an 11 year old, the cops were called and arrested my son. I found some leverage and managed to get the charges dropped. All was calm for about 4 years then a few started again but made the mistake of doing it after they were 18, I punched one in the face this time and lied my ass off to the cops. No one bothered us again.

Perhaps these kids will think twice before harassing adults.

This is the real problem. It's not racial. It's cultural.

If we accept that our society will just allow this disintegration, this menace, this unchecked barbarism, we will indeed have such a society.

When rhetoric trumps reality, the rhetoric wins the day, and we lose what we have to slide downhill to a state of savagery.

The law and courts and lawyers can muddle around and flounder and stew in some intractable debate with navelgazing and speculating, but the rest of us have to live and work in such chaos.

You want concealed carry and vigilante thinking to abate, then figure out how to stop telling citizens "you'll just have to be a victim because it really isn't a serious enough crime for us to control or manage." If everything must be a 10 on the scale of 1-10 before the police and society act, then we've lost our society.

It's literally true in slums when "shots fired" is the only call that can get a timely response, or any response sometimes.
