On Topic Discussion Mike Jeffries: The "Guy" that Runs Abercrombie and Fitch Doesn't Believe in Aging Gracefully

Actually I do think there could be a solid case here as he could have felt coerced. If he didn't, the agent could have spread all sorts of negativity about him. And in that business it could mean the end of a career. He'll just need to hire a very good attorney to prove it.

I agree. The situation probably occured because the photgrapher he was working with was using his position and power to manipulate him. Bowers is a young model on the rise. He probably felt some obligation to please the photographer for the sake of building his career. He may have felt intimidated by the photographer's position. Perhaps he felt if he had refused to 'perform', the photographer would have refused to use him in the shoot. Then perhaps labeling Bowers as 'difficult' or 'tempermenatal', possibly damaging a reputation he is still in the midst of building. I'm sure almost every male or female model has experienced what Bowers had, but they don't say anything for the sake of their career. I don't think stupidity is the issue, more of less naivety like most people that age. I'm sure he felt helpless in the moment, as well as confused at how the photographer was manipulating him. After the fact, he probably had a self-talk or spoke with someone else, re-evaluated the situation and decided to speak out.

Modelling is not a profession.
People should do it for fun and get paid for it if they have the look

Modeling is and can be a profession. Not everyone has the longevity but those that do can have rather long, profitable careers that can even allow their name to bring other profitable opportunites. It's very few that have the advantage to make a real career from modeling, but it isn't unheard of either.

"Mr Bowers said he felt Mr Hilburn took advantage of him and wasn't trying to help him with his career,"... Mmmn, so it would have been acceptable if he WAS trying to help him with his career?

This is the kind of case that makes a mockery of serious sexual assault cases. This guy's life wasn't in danger, he wasn't being threatened at knife or gun point and he wants $1million for jacking off because he didn't want to lose a gig or have to deal with imagined negative stories?

Roll on the Mayan Apocalypse - we need the 'reset button' pressing!!!

That agent must have been reading all the JUB advice threads on how to convince a straight guy to drop his pants.

Not with the agent stripping down to compare sizes :dead:

Re: Male Model Masturbates to Look Relaxed and then Sues!

hes gorgeous. how do you force someone to masturbate tho. I dont think I could get it up, if I was being forced. but he is young enough, his dick can probly get hard if the wind changes direction. lol.

There's already a thread about this today in Hot Topics. Take a moment to browse page 1 before posting, LostLover. ;)

Can we have these merged, moderators?

Well. Here we are.

I've got no other thought on this except to say that no one should ever have to feel that they have to perform a sex act against their will.

I think it would be interesting to consider the conversations this case could create if the model was female.

Really, I'd say he looks more relaxed in the first picture (behind the wheel, giving the thumbs up), than he does in the second picture (underwear).

ROFL...a model, for A&F, is upset he's actually been used as a sex object instead of just posing as one? Some people really need to be shot into the sun.

Hmmmm - seems like a mean thing to do.
Especially seeing as it was a hand modelling gig.

My ex modeled for A&F for a little while. He quit modeling because he couldn't stand the people in the industry. Most of them are extremely shallow and it's a very "cut throat" business. He made quite a bit of money but it just wasn't worth it to him. I didn't go to any of his shoots but he told me a lot about them. Once a model reaches a certain level they're treated pretty well and there's usually a fair number of people around the set. Production people, assistants, etc. I just find it hard to believe he felt his career was in jeopardy if he didn't do it.

Obviously I wasn't there when this guy did his jo scene but I don't think he was forced to do anything. Purely guessing but I'd bet there was some joking around and maybe even some "I'll show you mine if you show me yours" type stuff then one thing lead to another. He probably did it and then had second thoughts about it or what better way to catapult your career than to sue a HUGE name in the retail world over a sex scandal. Tons of free publicity. How many people here had even heard of this guy before this happened?
