The house I lived in in Cleveland was built in 1939. The architect was a contemporary/acquaintence of F.L. Wright. It was a pretty trippy place to live (if trippy can be applied to 1930s architecture ;)).

I am never sure of the exact definition of some terms. My home was built in 1880, so i KNOW it's not modern, but if the stuff I saw in East Aurora NY done by the Roycrofters is what you mean, then YES I realy liked their stuff, and although I just dabble in furniture building, and decorating I have designed a replica of a Medievel German Toyshop, but then that too is far from Modern.
Would love to correspond with you more, but don't know what's legal to give out on this site.
BTW from where I am sitting I can see about 300 Green Lantern Comics from the 60's onward tempting me to leave my drawing table and read rather than paint.

I used to give tours of a FLW house in Manchester, NH. It was truely one of the nicest spaces I've been in.

I love FLW...

Every time I pass Madison, I stop at this church he designed...

I am the biggest nerd about skyscrapers/construction that you will ever meet.

I could probably pick out 49 out of 50 skylines just by looking at pictures of them

Does that count?

I do like it. If only I could afford it!

oh i know!

although there is a strong movement for modern pre-fab homes.

there is some really interesting stuff in that direction...

because its you? yes. ;)

I can apprecate modern architecture but I would prefer not to live in it, mainly because I find them to be too impersonal and cold (feeling not temperature). They ofen times have a sterile feeling.

When people come into my home, I like them to feel comfortable right away. So I prefer contemporary with warm colors and proper lighting.

that is probably the one big concern folks have over modern architecture.

but at the same time i've seen some homes where that concern was addressed.

i guess it really all depends on the home owner, the architect and the designer to make the home as warm and as comfortable as they can.

Yes it does..cause I am one too. I was just looking at the ATL skyline last week and LOVE the building on Ponce de Leon with the lattice top that lights up at night. I despise the building eith the two "wings" that go up in the air and serve no purpose. I was thinking it looks like the architect was thinking "I have to do something here but dont know what"..Hideous! Maybe some owner will remove them? PLEASE!

really? an architecture student? awesome!
There's a couple of 'them' here. I don't know if I can name them though, cos they've told me as we've got to know each other - and one of them, well, where he's from, just that information could 'out' him, so I best keep quiet!

if we're talking frank lloyd wright my all time favorite is falling water...
