Mortal Kombat: "Rebirth" - MOVIE TRAILER TEASER

I've been saying I wanted another 2D Mortal Kombat for years. I'd prefer if it were sprite-based, but i'm actually looking forward to this one.
 
hmm .. well that's a bit away from the original lore, but thjat doesn't need to be bad. the first movies were a bit ..umm .. cheesy.

love the look of thew new game, looks a bit more like the good old 1-3 :)
 
I was disappointed to find out this wasnt a real trailer but pretty much a viral video in hopes to gain enough buzz to become an actual film.

I like it. It's a bit hard to swallow for people who know the MK mythologies well but they've done it in a way that doesn't ignore the best characters for the sake of making it seem 'real'.
 
I think this movie looks horrible. The first two may have been cheesy but at least it followed the original game somewhat.
 
Man this looks good! Finally a more deep & serious take on a MK movie. So excited!

Agreed. The fact that this short film is trying to make the characters into everyday, relateable people with disorders (psychological and physiological) as opposed to mythical creatures from other dimensions makes it lose its magic for me. I'm already uninterested.
 
Dunno if i'd pay to see it, but it's surely got me interested..|

Reptile was pretty sick...glad I was eating when I saw tha shit.
 
So in this movie, nothing is supernatural??? No powers?

Kinda disappointing though... I wish it would be more of a special effects movie rather than a dark/thriller movie...

Jax is well casted... He is my favorite MK character (2d MK version), I really though John Parrish was hot, as well as Lynn Red Williams from the MK2 movie...
 
The director actually said in an interview that I read that all of the mysticism and supernatural elements would be in his movie.

He made this "film" in two days with $7500, so he was obviously very limited with what he could do.
 
I heard that this movie would be a retelling of Scorpion and Sub Zero's story, and once they get on the boat and get to the island they will add the mythological stuff we all love -- according to the potential director. ..|
