Most recently, Sweeney Todd. A musical with extreme gore. It was entertaining, but it was also one of the most bizarre spectacles I have seen on film (or rather DVD).

Steel Magnolias.

It disturbs me that so many gays have orgasms over this dreck.

"Inside"...definately one of the most disturbing movies I've seen.

Salo: 100 Days of Sodom by Pier Paulo Pasolini
I love this movie

This is definitely one gruesome, heart-rending film. The musical score is catchy and dark.

I really felt sympathetic for Mrs. Lovett and that final scene is out of control! It gets me every time.

Ugh I hate Sweeney Todd, its the same song rehashed and sung over and over again with different words stretched out for an entire film. It has so much gore in it that after the first few throat slits and body drops down the shute your completely desensitized to it all

The movie The Town That Dreaded Sundown has always creeped me out. Just the fact that it was based on a true story....................

An American Crime, stars the girl from juno. Most fucked up true story. I read the real story and they toned down the real story for the movie. If any one watches it please let me know what you think.

I had very little problem with 'Salo', 'Irreversible', even 'Cannibal Holocaust'. I think that just the pretense of meaning or artfulness can transform the shock of a violent film into something for reflection.

On the other hand I could stand only about ten minutes of 'August Underground's Mordum'. Not the violence, but the sick, depraved meaninglessness of it revolted me beyond my capacity. A generous viewer may be able to stomach it as some sort of comedy. I felt it was a nadir in gratuity and can't believe that making something so rotten is an accomplishment.

a short film about killing
blue velvet
passion of the christ
irreversible (rape scene and camera work)
hellbound (hellraiser II)

Mine have to be The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Exorcist. NOrmally scary movies don't freak me out too much, but these two just scared the shit out of me. Well, they still do.

Scum (late 1970s British film about young criminals in a borstal - Ray Winstone's first role) Great film but very grim. (I was way too young when I first watched it). It has everything, sickening violence, rape, suicide, casual racism. Most disturbing is the indifference of those in authority.

Jacobs Ladder. Something of a mindfuck of a movie.

Reality based films are the most disturbing for me, things like Schindlers List or Hotel Rwanda.

Jesus Camp probably tops my list though. Children being mentally abused in the name of faith. Evil fucks.

These all i can think for now...

1. Cannibal Holocaust (full of brutal rapes, sex genital cutting, human flesh eating, impalement, abortion, real animal killing all in close up and looks too real for 80s movie and most of all the ending will crack u up. this is definitely #1 movie when it comes to disgusting, disturbing and repulsive movie ever made)

2. Salo (the shit eating, the cake-full-of-nails eating and tongue cutting pretty much made me take a deep breath haha)

3. Irreversible (if the rape scene and fire extinguisher scene do nothing to you, then you got serious problem! haha J/K but its still sick)

4. Nekromantik (sex with maggoty dead bodies...)

5. House on the Edge of the Park (rape, rape and more brutal rape)

6. Man Behind the Sun (this movie just plain wrong, especially the cat scene)

7. Guinea Pig: Flower of Flesh and Blood (charlie sheen called FBI stating that this movie is real snuff... yes, this movie is THAT convincing...)

8. Vienna Aktionists
9. Squirmfest
10. Dirija Para A Vida

last three is quite... uhum,..special

Reading the plot summary of Squirmfest reminded me of "Slaughtered Vomit Dolls" somehow. The trailers are enough of this sort of thing for me....they leave me more dumbfounded than disturbed.

dumfounded.. yes

but for me, the only thing that disturbed me is for the fact that all those actresses did "that thing" for real. Yes, underground japanese cinema can be too unbelievable sometimes. movies like Squirmfest (or similar title like Terrible Meal and Gusomilk which is far far harder to watch) is out there and its real.

and no, Slaughtered Vomit Dolls would be tame compare to these sick puppies for me...
