most touching gay movie

I loved Latter Days and I thought Soldier's Girl was a good one I think thats the name it was about a guy who falls in love with a transgendered girl. If I'm not right please correct me.

As per recommendation from this thread, I was able to check out Shelter.
Really a great coming-of-age movie. I really felt I identified with the main character, and the acting was great all around. Actually for the past week or so, I've been pretty down in the dumps, but this movie really helped lift my spirits. In fact, it really got me thinking about coming out to my own family and friends. I'm not one who will re-watch a movie, but to me, this is a keeper. I might even find it on DVD.
I mean, I don't really know anything about gay movies (aside from Brokeback), so I'm kind of thrilled that I was able to watch this one. Further research let me know that not all movies are as tastefully done. Haha, i guess they can't all be winners.

I Don't Think Any Gay Themed Movie Ever Made Me Cry.

Though I Am Always Moved By The Characters In Transamerica And Shortbus - No Matter How Many Times I Watch Them.

No offense, but wht's with the caps for every word..

Someone should make a poll of the most commonly named ones here.

The Wedding Banquet

Ang Lee directed this film about a Chinese-American who hides his homosexuality and his American partner from his parents by claiming he's proposing to a Chinese tenant of his until they come to visit to hold a wedding banquet for him and her. Comedy-Drama, and really sweet. In English, too. The most touching part was really the father, who was in a ton of Ang Lee's films until he died.

Ah well, it did for me, haha. Mostly because I felt that I might be in that situation one day and always hoped it might end the way it does in the film with Wei's parents. My folks already know, but I always hope that when I have a partner that, compared to my previous boyfriend, they'll recognize how much he means to me. So it made me sappy because of the similarities...

Longtime Companion, Get Real, Ma Vie en Rose (not exactly gay, but dealt with gender issues and was very sweet), Big Eden, several others I now can no longer remember...

Our Sons with Julie Andrews, Anne Margaret & Hugh Grant

Didn't anyone like Loggerheads? That movie really touched me and was the only gay movie that has made me cry.

A Portugese film. I can't remember the title (and I'd be really grateful if someone could help me out) - it was something to do with the Sun (the Sun beat down, the Sun also shines - something like that). The lead character is at uni and spends a vacation in the country with his older married sister where he meets Albert/Alfred, a guy about his own age, but who works and supports his younger brother. At first the sister approves of the relationship, because she admire's A's self-sacrifice, but when she realises there is more to it she tries to stop it (her hubby's a local bigwig). Its quite a tender love story and both leads are easy on the eye. I'd really like to see it again.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned "It's My Party"

"Big Eden" is one of my favorites.
