And just like that, one of the most enticing political scandals in quite some time potentially goes up in smoke. Gawker's John Cook just updated the world on the site's crowdfunded efforts to purchase the video of Rob Ford (allegedly!) smoking crack cocaine, and it is not a breakthrough — even if the truth is out there, even if the other team hunting down the tape (besides the cops, and Ford) says the sellers are "running scared right now."

Cook reports he heard from the middle man handing negotiations between Gawker and the video's sellers on Friday, but now it's missing. "It's gone. Leave me alone," was the message relayed to Cook.

Where the video went, though, is pretty unclear. The police allegedly knew of its existence, and where to find it, a few days after the video leaked. The big problem? So did members of Ford's staff, and some remain employed at Toronto city hall. (Many have quit over the last few weeks.) Cook also points to the leaked details, mostly from the mayor's staff, that led to the media locating the Etobicoke apartment on Dixon Road in Ford's former riding, or district, where the tape was allegedly being held.

If there was a perfect definition of white trash it is Rob and Doug Ford. The Ford brothers are so disgusting they are obnoxious, entitled and extremely arrogant.

The funny thing about Ford is a lesbian journalist for the Toronto Sun Sue Ann Levy CONTINUES to defend Ford. Even though Ford is clearly a homophobe Sue Ann Levy always defends him. No surprise Ford loves the Toronto Sun. Even the National Post a conservative newspaper in Toronto has been very critical of Ford with this crack scandal.

Rob Ford crack video scandal: Here’s the house where the photo was taken
A photo given to the Star reporters who viewed the infamous crack-smoking video was taken in front of a Windsor Rd. house with a bad reputation.

The house where Mayor Rob Ford was photographed with murder victim Anthony Smith and another shooting victim is notorious for drug problems, according to people living in the area.

Police frequently visit the house in response to calls from concerned neighbours, with the most recent visit coming shortly after news broke almost three weeks ago of a video that appears to show the mayor smoking crack cocaine.

Several police cars showed up at 15 Windsor Rd. early one morning within days of the first stories about the video, according to neighbours.

Rob Ford boots last woman off executive committee

Mayor Rob Ford has an all-male executive committee after a Monday leadership shuffle in which he demoted two councillors who have challenged him over his alleged substance use.

Ford ousted the only woman on the powerful 13-member committee, Councillor Jaye Robinson. He also bumped Councillor Paul Ainslie to a lesser role.

Robinson had publicly urged Ford to take a leave of absence to deal with an ongoing crack cocaine scandal. Ainslie confirmed to the Star in March that the mayor was asked to leave a military ball at which organizers were concerned that he was intoxicated.
