  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

My Mayor smokes crack............does yours.

No cigar. I bespied the councilors were sitting in front of screens at their official UN curved floor seating. I did watch it live on the NBC interwebz.

Mental hospitals have and need wards. Toronto, apparently.

the 44 wards are the inheritance from the amalgamation of all the municipalities into the City of Toronto. By comparison, Chicago has 50 Aldermen. New York has 51 and Los Angeles has 15. Rob Ford wanted to reduce the number to 26 for Toronto...but he is exactly the reason why people are fearful of making too few people too powerful based on their constituency.

I would note that it was this number of councillors who helped Toronto finish with a $350 million surplus at the end of the previous mayor's term...a surplus that Rob Ford and his brother promptly blew off by eliminating some taxes and then claimed that they've saved the city billions.

44 is too many. I think a city can make use of 12 or perhaps 14 councillors.

Oh Dear.

Even Sun Network, (Faux News North) couldn't afford Ford's bullshit. They had to cancel because the 1 hour show took 5 hours to shoot and 8 hours to edit.

Rob Ford said that Rob Ford has helped thousands of homeless youth. He said that no one has helped as many kids as he has. Ford said that he took homeless kids off the street, put them in his truck and took them to his house where they got to sleep on his couch. Ford said the Don Bosco football players would call him at 3:00 am and say they've gotten into trouble, so Ford said that he'd get in his truck, go get them and bring them back to to his house and they'd sleep on his couch.

Pass the bong anyone?

Sun News Network vice-president Kory Teneycke says Ford Nation was the highest rated program ever on the channel, grabbing 155,000 viewers when it first aired last night.

With numbers like that, how is the station staying on the air? No wonder they're petitioning the CRTC to get them on regular, non-subscription channels.

^ (paraphrase): "The Kuwait comment might be a bit dated, but, in Rob Ford's defence, it might be the last thing he remembers."

Bloody Brilliant, that!! :rotflmao:

Ford truly loves Toronto and wants what's best for his city.

Yeah, right:

But apparently, overexposure is not as good for Canada as it is for American comedians. A global media study released on Wednesday suggests that the Rob Ford scandal is raising Toronto's international profile, but almost entirely through negative exposure.

Cormex Research says that newspaper coverage of the city has increased 31 per cent since last year. But the amount of negative coverage tripled over the same period. Ford's freefall accounted for 60 per cent of that coverage.

"[T]here's a new narrative – bad political governance – and its quickly overtaking the good-news story that is Toronto globally," study author Andrew Laing said in a statement.

Oh my........... you sure do know how pick your friends Mr. Mayor.

A trainer who consulted with Rob Ford as recently as Tuesday night on a health “game plan” was convicted in the U.S. for steroid trafficking and is currently in the midst of a 12-year ban from coaching in Canada for administering steroids.

The Toronto mayor has repeatedly said he is working with a team of health professionals following his admission of smoking crack while in a “drunken stupor.” Ford has not specified what that team includes other than to say it includes advice about his weight and he is not in an alcohol treatment program. Ford’s criminal lawyer, Dennis Morris, has said the mayor is spending up to two hours a day exercising, has revamped his diet and has received support from a medical doctor.

George W. Bush.. Wow, that is sad. I'm just watching Fahrenheit 9/11 again. What timimg. LOL!!!

I think it is hilarious that almost everyone in the mayor's office jumped ship and went to the protection of the Deputy Mayor.....

This is the most amusing public scandal I have ever witnessed, mostly because he doesn't have to go away... I feel for Canada.... O' Canada....

It's amazing some of us love the country that gave us a home.

He needs to be boarded onto the bus of people to be driven off a cliff.

But David Price is gone. His salary was double of the person that held the job before him. $130,000 per year ........

Mr. Mayor does the words gravy train mean anything to you.

I guess that since their radio show was cancelled, they don't need Price to be calling in pretending to be various constituents any more.

Pass the bong anyone?

Why it Took So Long to shoot......

Ezra: Have you smoked crack?

Rob Ford: Yes, I'm high on it right now

CUT!

(Take 2)

Ezra: Have you smoked crack?

Rob Ford: No, never. On wait a minute - crack? I thought you said heroin,
oh yeah I've done crack. And cocaine. And I sniff Oxycontin.

CUT!

(Take 3)

Ezra: Have you smoked crack?

Rob Ford: Oh yeah. Multiple times - no wait. Can I change my answer?

CUT!

etc.

I saw a clip of the show on the Soup. Basically an angry commentator first pointing out that other politicians take drugs...and then, taking a page from the US playbook, segued seamlessly into the discussion of Ted Kennedy who not only took drugs but killed a woman while drunk. Sadly, the segment ended before they got to Hitler.

Time for a new slogan. FORD - It's Not Like He KILLED Anyone.

@3:30 the exchange that shows he doesn't even take himself seriously. Probably the most telling moment in this clown show.
