He may have been at some point in his life, but who cares? What I saw in that clip was a guy who got caught being dishonest. Look at the body language. It's not the religion, that I care about. Islam is just as bad as most other major religions. It's Obama's apparent dishonesty about his religion, that's troubling. If you studied the Koran at some point in your life, admit it. His dad was a Muslim, so I'm sure he had some exposure to it. Just fess up, nobody cares how you worship.

I would have to disagree with this. If he were openly Muslim, not only do I believe he could never be elected President, I don't believe he would be in the race now.
Whether you agree or not, a huge portion of Americans would never vote for a practicing Muslim.

I agree with the thrust of your post. I suppose we could quibble over whether it's slander or whether it might be false light, but whatever it is, it's ridiculous and transparently so.

So, Jewish people who attended Catholic school are now Catholic because they were exposed to the religion at one time?

The truth is before Obama met Rev. Wright, he didn't have a religion. His mother was atheist and his father was a non-practicing Muslim (that he'd only met once or twice).

I've watched the clip several times, and I am going with ... he was saying that McCain hasn't made implications that he was a Muslim, and it came out wrong. A pretty bad gaffe to make, unfortunately.

Sadly they'll use this to help crucify him. He nneded to do the old "speech marks in the air". That 2 secs of sound bite is gold for them.

I don't see the McCain camp actually going there, with this one. But talk radio and PAC's for McCain, I definitely see using the sound byte.
