Need Motivation To Lose Weight?!

:gogirl: I guess I've found the motivation to lose some weight: some guys from my OWN town that make NUDE STRENCH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Imagine it, cute boys doing exercise NACKED, and you watching all!!!

And the best is I can go with them, but i don't have to dressd off myself....

P.D.:all of the are straight I don't care but look like some of you yes!

Hey guys,

Great thread to start.

I also am in pursuit of a long-term weight loss strategy. At my heaviest 1 year ago, I weighed 315 pounds. I am now down to between 295-300, but am working on getting motivated to keep going. I have a plan to get down to about 205 in the next year or two.

I tend to do well at eating and exercising for a day or two, but as soon as I start to stumble, I end up totally getting off track again for several weeks.

My main goals right now are to start exercising more and eating better. Nothing super drastic, but changes that I can make for now and the future

switch boy add!! Wonderful!! That's the attitude that we all needed in here. Yes you ARE going to lose that weight. Then you'll be the first to tell us about your sucess and how you do it, so we can all learn from you.

hahaha, naked guys doing exercise. What a dream come true. who cares if they are straight, and who knows!? Seriously if their are naked guys that does exercise in my location, I think I'll never gain weight again. hahaha, I'll be with them exercising every day thats why!

tell us about your adventure the next time you drop by!

Jockboy01, lifting weight is always my weakness. Thinking about it only, makes me ughhh..in unexcitement. The music always does a great deed when you need to NOT focus on what you are doing. Basically, if you are too focus on running, or lifting weights, or swimming... you will feel tired easily. When you listen to music and you have lost your focus, you will do more than you can expected without feeling tiring at all. Just for what you told me above on how you used to hate it but really enjoyed it now, I will start lifting weights again after the next few weeks of my now hectic schedules.

Harry1: Congratulation!!!! Twelve Pounds is a lot of weight to shed off the shoulders! Don't you feel much lighter now?(the other lightness..) Since you have lost that weight, don't you feel much more energetic? Don't you feel like you can take on the world? If you don't, you should start now. hahaha. This is a big war we are all fighting. In this war, we will all learn to get back our old self, the self we always have imagined to be. We will learn confidence, we will learn self acceptance, and we will learn the true meaning of success.

100 lbs is never too hard to lose. The hard part is to keep on going, but I am pretty sure you can do that. When you are tired and need the strength to go on, you can always come back here to meet with all of us. We will give you the strength and motivation to continue on.

I totally agree with AJ. We are suppose to worry about losing weight, but we should always do it in a healthy way. Remember, do not try to starve yourself. It will not help. Your body actually stores more fat when you starve yourself. The body had done enough of storing fat, so we should all make sure to eat healthy.

Eat fruits! Fruits is a great thing to snack on. My personal favorite is Grannysmith's green apples. Sour!! Yummm! I snack on that and oranges. Who said we can't snack when we are on a diet?

Take the sodas out of your life. Drink more water. Eat more fruits. hehehe, its kinda like flushing out your system. I feel great doing this because I can see the weightloss on my scale.

Put the scale to one side and promise to only weighs yourself once every week or 2 weeks. Don't let the weights bother you.

Tiger28, you can do it! Nothing super drastic is the right thinking. That is the perfect thinking for your long-term weight loss strategy. Eat less, smaller portions but more healthier food. Exercise frequent. Do not over exercise. Do it for fun, do it for enjoyment. I know, I know, exercise is never fun and not enjoyable but.. You can make it fun and enjoyable. There is nothing we cannot do, as long as we have the mind for it!

To be very honest with you, the last time I exercise was last sunday on the 13th, until now, I haven't done any exercising at all and have gain like 3 lbs already through eating. I am doing very bad and I need a spanking~! Its been 4 days of eating and being really lazy!

I get off track all the time but just remember, come back here to read other's stories and see other's progress.

For some reason, I am very lazy right now and do not want to do anything but.. I came here tonight and read replies from others, I realize that I too need to work on my exercising if I want to motivate others! Therefore tomorrow I will wake up a tad bit earlier and do a fast pace walking around my neighborhood for 15 minutes! It will make me feel much better and it will be very easy! Just walk a little faster than normal, burn all those sweats, then come back for a shower and go to work!

Like I told others, you do not need to run, start out doing some walking. Pretty soon those walking will turn to jogging and then turn to actually running.

--

Soccerfck, I live in a neighborhood filled up with streetlights and stoplights. I find it much easier if you stop and take a rest. Don't stop and sit down while you wait for the lights. Do something like stretching. Don't stop moving your feet at these lights, keep them moving. I actually likes these lights, because I can take a break for a bit.

If you run nonstop, you feel less tiring but you will feel terrible once you're all done. Do not try to rush yourself. Like I said above, stop for some stretching, or just jog standing at the same spot. If you really hate these lights then you can consider making a right turn. I do that, since I know my neighboorhood's streets already and if there is a street that I have to wait alot I will make a right turn and go for 2 blocks, and then take a break and wait for the light.

And do not worry about what other people are thinking of you standing there stretching or jogging and waiting for the light. I am pretty sure when I say this, most of them are just jeolous because you have the courage and the will to exercise while all of them do not. Whenever I drive and I see someone jogging on the streets, I find that as a motivation and something to scold myself for being lazy.

Wow. I haven't posted in a while. Anyways. I need some new exercises. I have biked for the past couple of days, but I would like to try something new. I have jogged before, but it's an on-off thing. Same with weight training... Any tips Eternaldarkness or anyone else?

swimming. its easy, fun, and refreshing. I like to swim in a swimming pool and hates the beach. The beach has salt water and I find myself irrating and dehydrating from it, thus I get too tired so easily when you have to swim against or along the currents.

you can try to play tennis. I just did tonight, we had played single and I am still sweating! Phew... so tiring but it feels good. It is so amazing how I am back to the weight I was at the week before and had lost the weight I had gain last weekend. (mother's day and eating and laziness...blah)

ever thought about rollerblading? Damn, this activity burns hella alot of sweat.

If you could find a partner, there will be so much more to do. If you're alone, then there is only so much you can do.

My best advice is swimming if you are alone.

Wait!! Almost forgot! You have DDR, you can do that. Get your skills better. DDR is fun. Leave a jug of water nearby though! Sleeping is beneficial too when you are too tiring to exercise. We need motivation to lose weight, but if you do not have the strength, it will be nearly impossible. So sleep better, not too much sleeping, but get better sleep. Eat less and eat well. Drink lots of water. You won't gain weight that way.

Just for what you told me above on how you used to hate it but really enjoyed it now, I will start lifting weights again after the next few weeks of my now hectic schedules.

Like I said, it takes a while. I've gotten out of habit... in maintainance right now of once a week and it is so hard to get the motivation to go. The only reason I'm making it once a week now is b/c I know that if I don't, it's gonna hurt bad the next time I go. That, and the fact that I'm paying a monthly due whether I go or not.

that is so true. I didn't realize it until now. If you become lazy and stop, then it will hurt more. Duh! hahahaha.

What happened to everyone? Was this thread so boring enough that you guys have lost all your motivation?

Lets start updating on our current weights and progress! It has been several weeks, everyone should have done better.

Let me start first then...

For myself, I have been easilly tired lately. I'm working all day long from 9 in the morning to 8 at night. I still try my best to exercise and play tennis but without my friends, I cannot go as often as I wish too. I am so tired that I haven't run or jog at all!

I am now 155 lbs. I am back to the weight I was stuck at before. For the past 2 weeks my family and friends had lots of birthday parties and barbecues and I had gain quite amont of weight. After trying, I have finally lost the 5 lbs I gained.

I am so tired lately I haven't run or jog at all. I feel so ashamed. !oops!

If I do not try harder, I will never get the body that I want to get. Therefore I have decided to upgrade my exercising even more.

Instead of running 2 times a week and play tennis, I will run 6 days a week and no tennis, since my friends all have other things to do. I'll do that for 1 week and see how that goes. Hopefully I can start tomorrow night.

I have never tried to run so much before so I really need the motivation!! If I can do this, I will feel so much better! It will be a mission impossible accomplishment thing.

C'mon everyone, Summer is here..if we don't start creating a good habit, you'll regret it when winter comes and the weight will then add up even more!

This threat is such a great idea, and so I'am gonna jump on this band wagon.

AJ - all I gotta say is, good job bro! That is an impressive achievement and I hope everything is working out for you man.

heres a pic of me...its my first before and after shot.

I still have about thirty to forty more pounds I want to lose, but I know I can do it, getting started is the hard part, I took the last month off cause I moved and school finals, and I've put on about 5 pounds.

Anyway, I guess like everyone else here I'll post my progress this summer as I go. This such an inspiration ya'll! I wish you all the best of luck!!!! (!)

Thanks for this thread. I've been in losing mode since last summer, but I too have hit the proverbial brick wall. I lost a total of 73# (from 310 down to 237) then stopped losing. Then when my mother started going down hill and then died (about which I wrote elsewhere), I got out of whack with my exercise and diet and gained about 14 pounds back.

Cardio and diet weren't doing it alone any more, so I started lifting last Saturday and have done so 6 of the last 8 days (I alternate: upper body and abs one day and lower body the next). I'm already noticing some differences; my "man boobs" are noticeably smaller, my gut is slightly less flabby, and my ass has toned a bit. That's the type of encouragement I need!

I've read that when you start lifting to stop paying so much attention to weight, since muscle weighs more than fat. I have lost a few pounds, but the other results above are what's going to motivate me to continue!

muscle weighs more than fat.

Good point that I forgot to mention. If you lift... you may not lose as much weight b/c the muscle does in fact weigh more than fat (that's to say it is denser). So don't be discouraged. I used to lose weight when I stopped going to the gym for a month or two... I was losing muscle, not fat.

Re: Working out? Any Suggestions?

Go to your local gym and ask for advice there, they should be able to help you out.

I actually discovered I had a six-pack today, I was in shock!

Try to do excersizes that work the whole body, there's no point just targeting the abs.

Good luck.

Re: Working out? Any Suggestions?

I've a 45 day plan written by a former US Navy SEAL. It spells out what to eat and how to work out.

If you'd like a copy, PM me and I'll fire a copy off to you.

Yes, try to exercise the whole buddy and not target any specific areas. It worked soo much faster and easier!

I did so much crunches before, but the result were only minimum.

Now that I am eating healthier and avoiding high calories food, I am also exercising frequently to burn calories, I got so much more result.

I don't have a six pack yet, but I'm on my way to get there! Hopefully I'll get there..ahhahaa.

working out can be boring if you go alone. I don't really know how to make working out more fun. Mine is pretty boring.

As for me, I jog around. I just move to this place not to long ago, so right now instead of driving around the neighborhood, I jog around the neighborhood. The same time I am exercising, I am exploring all sorts of places and stores and forest...and cemeteries..hahaha. sort of like a sight-seeing thing.

I find it is much much easier to work out when you are surrounded by men who have excellent body. You'll get more inspired and motivated just from looking at them. hahaha.

For those who have hit a hard wall and cannot lose more, try something different. Change your exercising.

I still need to lose about 20 lbs. I am dying to lose it. I want to look great in clothing and look great out of them too!

I'm thinking about buying a bike. The place I live in now, its mostly surrounded by forest and trees and hiking roads. I think a bike would be fun to go around exploring. I mean, jogging is cool, but I run at night afterwork. I swear, one day someone is going to kidnap me. hahahaha.

I haven't been on in a long while, but here it goes:

Truthfully, I haven't been exercising, because, well, had no time. For example, this past weekend I went on a trip to Cleveland and Cedar Point. I have two things to say: Cleveland/Cedar Point has a LOT of hotties there, and my motivation to get fit has increased by tenfold; second, I did some exercise while on my trip, but I think it was for naught. Had too many sodas, fried foods, etc. So bleh.

Today, I have nothing to do, and I am currently torn between doing schoolwork, or going for a jog... But I have to go to work at 5... Oh, what the hell. I'll go for a jog.

And here are my stats:

Weight: 178 lbs.
BMI: 23.5
Body fat %: 18%

So, I lost some weight, but I think it is water weight. Time to go for my jog! See ya later!

Ok... Since I can't edit my above post...

Just came back from my jog. I walked/jogged/sprinted 2.28 miles in about 24 minutes... I am still sweating! Now, I am going to eat cottage cheese and a salad... Ciao!

SexyGuy!!!! You are awesome!
I did almost the same thing. 2.5 miles in about 25 minutes. I actually try to do that everynight. Doesn't it feel great!

Yes, we need to look at other hot guys more often! If they can do it, why not us?!
I mean, ofcourse we need more time and spend more effort but hey... life is still long, we still have lots and lots of time to do it.

That, though, doesn't mean we can forget about trying now. Start now!!

SexyGuy, I am looking forward to see your next posting. I am pretty sure by then the weight have definately gone down.
