Netflix continues to make changes that anger its customers. The latest is a big move to spawn a new segment called Qwikster for their by mail rental service. Netflix is now streaming service only. So if you want both, you need to use both Netflix and Quikster under the same subscription.

Looks like Netflix is trying their hardest to alienate all their customers and destroy the thriving business they once had.

^ They're doing a great job of it, too!

It's kind of odd that they split this up. The CEO says it's because he wants to adjust to modern times, but I don't see how he needed to have split up the two services, if he planned to add more of a focus to online streaming? He could have done that with the service that was up already....

I immediately stopped my subscription when they started this madness.

Seems like others were on the same page, the Netflix web site is sloowww as molasses today and it took forever for me to make the changes.

I don't understand their thinking. And I decided not to stick around and figure it out.

So what did you switch to? One of my friends dumped Netflix and is now using Hulu+, he seems to love it.

I just read this in an article:

Netflix CEO Reed Hastings just dropped a bombshell. In the wake of a rapid decline in Netflix’s stock price last week

Why have Netflix's stocks been dropping so quickly?

Ahaha! And they are trying so hard to compete against Hulu. XD

I never used the DVD mail service anyway, so I am good with staying with Netflix streaming.

I think Netflix's ego is showing, now that they put Blockbuster and Hollywood Video out of business they are trying to change services so their empire grows. I guess good things don't last for long, they will most likely end up getting destroyed by Redbox. I hear a lot of Ex-Netflix subscribers are hitting the Redbox and renting their movies.

Because they steeped their prices up way too far and handled it very poorly. They've lost millions of customers.

It just recently came to Canada (streaming service only), and it was advertised at $8 per month unlimited streaming. I hadn't heard about any increase advertised.

Thanks for the info.

I have both Netflicks and HULU+

I dont necessarily like Netflicks limited streamable movies and without a audience they will get even fewer newer flicks.

Hulu+ is good BUT not great ... their search function leave s a bit to be desired where as Netflicks put movies into nice neat genre rows for viewing...

I tend to use Vudu for any movie I might watch which is rare. However Vudu usually has it and you have to pay to watch.

Guess I may have to dump Netflicks....

I went with Amazon Instant Video. Amazon Prime account for $79 a year gives me Amazon Instant Video plus free 2 day shipping on my purchases.

How have you liked it? And did you have the others for a comaprison...?

I have an Amazon option on my wifi TV but didnt know anything about it....

About 75% of my Netflix queue has always been only available only on DVD.

So to watch what I prefer, I'll migrate to Qwikster. I'm pessimistic though following all these shenanigans.

If I have to return to hard delivery, I'll begin taking the short trip to my awesome little neighborhood video store. Just minutes away. Their late fees drove me off before, but the selection is even better than the Netflix library.

To boot, there are the obvious benefits of supporting a small and local business.

I still have choices.

Maybe I can whittle away at my laziness, too.

Some people are speculating they did this to make it easier to sell off their DVD business.

I just subscribed to streaming for the first time and wow, what a crappy selection. There are a few things I might watch if I'm desperate, but it seems like any time I search for a specific movie, it ain't there.

And their TV sucks just as bad, because the major networks are all using Hulu or their own websites for distribution. Even most of the not-so-major networks.
